Introducing a new celebrity feud: Rebel Wilson and Sacha Baron Cohen. This one was not on my 2024 bingo card, but then again, neither was Love Is Blind‘s Trevor having a secret girlfriend, J. Lo releasing the cringiest musical movie of our time, or Paul Mescal and Ayo Edebiri being a rumored Irish royalty item. The eventful year continues! The actress is super pissed with her former The Brothers Grimsby co-star after he allegedly tried to interfere with her upcoming memoir, Rebel Rising. She’s been open about the fact that there’s a whole chapter dedicated to the “asshole,” so I see why he’d prefer to keep that away from the public.
Obviously, I’m dying to know what exactly went down between Rebel and Sacha to get us to this juicy point. We’ll get the full story (or at least Rebel’s side of it) on April 2 when her book comes out, but until then, here’s my very extensive research on the subject. It seems like Rebel has a history of spilling Sacha tea, and she’s getting more and more comfortable with the practice. As a supporter of celebrities telling us about their drama, I love that for her.

In a March 15 Instagram video, Rebel talked her shit about Sacha without naming him yet. “I worked with a massive asshole and, yeah, I definitely have a no assholes policy,” she said. “A chapter on said asshole is chapter 23. That guy was a massive asshole.” I have to respect how many times she used that word in a few short sentences.

Then, she revealed Sacha’s identity in a March 25 Instagram Story. Rebel wrote: “I will not be bullied or silenced by high priced lawyers or PR crisis managers. The ‘asshole’ that I am talking about in ONE CHAPTER of my book is: Sacha Baron Cohen.” Teeaaa.

Rebel has a history of calling out Sacha. She spoke her truth about him during a 2014 appearance on the Kyle and Jackie O on KIIS FM radio show. “Sacha is so outrageous,” she said. “Every single day he’s like, ‘Rebel, can you just go naked in this scene?’ And I’m like, ‘No!'” Oof. The actress also claimed that he asked her to stick her finger up his butt for a scene. I’m… disturbed. “He’s like, ‘Look, I’ll just pull down my pants, you just stick your finger up my butt, it’ll be a really funny bit,'” she recalled on the show. It’s giving ~major red flags~.
