Ugly rumors are going around that the life-changing HBO-turned-Max show Euphoria has been canceled. It’s very unclear what my personality and fashion inspo is supposed to be if that ever happens. Yes, I’m aware that many of the actors are all, like, approaching 30 at this point but I was prepared to overlook that for season 3! Over the years, Euphoria has given us so many iconic lines to quote (i.e. “Is this fucking play about us?”), and I absolutely need more. Plus, we can all agree that Zendaya can never have enough Emmys.
The new season has been delayed for a long time due to the pandemic, the industry strikes, and the tragic death of the beloved Angus Cloud, who played Fez in the series. With everything that’s happened, fans have been wondering for a while now whether or not the show will return at all. I’ve been preparing myself for the worst, but I’m still not prepared for it. So, what is the deal with Euphoria season 3? Is it canceled? Postponed? Luckily for you, I actually have some answers.

World of Reel decided to freak us all out and report that the new season had been scrapped. They claimed that although production was set to resume over the summer, that just didn’t work out, so the stars moved on to other projects. Well… don’t believe everything you read. Fortunately, that report is incorrect.
The Euphoria Season 3 Shoot Is Just Delayed
An HBO spokesperson gave Variety a very important update: “HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season. In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.” We can all take a deep breath… it’s still coming back! Apparently, the writers are still working on the new scripts. (I wouldn’t know what to write at this point either.) Did we need to give Sydney Sweeney the opportunity to do Madame Web though? Maybe they were more referring to Zendaya’s upcoming sexy love triangle tennis movie. Fans can expect the new season in 2025, so yeah, there’s still a bit of a wait.
Sam Levinson Has Dropped Hints About Season 3 Of Euphoria
Over the summer, the series creator revealed that season 3 will “explore what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world.” He noted that it will be told from the perspective of Zendaya’s character, Rue. I mean… sounds about right.
