A Breakdown Of The Best And Worst Dressed Celebrities At The 2024 Golden Globes

A new award season is upon us. And since you’ve probably already failed your New Year resolutions (Wow, almost a whole week! New record!), you can now deflect all of that self-hate and judgment toward filthy rich celebrities on the red carpet. (Don’t defend them! They can’t hear you.) That’s right, we’re ready to dive into the 2024 Golden Globes best and worst dressed celebrities.

While Law Roach and other fashion stylists broke their back to dress the stars of today, I sat on the couch in my sweats and yelled, “Make it work, ladies!” like I’m goddamn Tim Gunn in Project Runway.

Thankfully, the celebs delivered entertainment. (I mean, it’s their literal job.) In turn, I analyzed each look to determine the night’s absolute worst and best dressed. Because I know the real award for the evening is who leaves the red carpet unscathed.

The Best And Worst Dressed Celebs At The 2024 Golden Globes

Margot Robbie (best)

Obviously. Yes. She said on the red carpet that her hot pink Armani dress is inspired by 1977 Superstar Barbie. If she doesn’t show up to every Award Show red carpet this year doing the absolute most, I will be disappointed. Wow me, Margot.

Elizabeth Olsen (worst)

Oh, honey. This is doing too much and not enough at the same time. It looks like she’s a victim of that awful Bridal Shower game where everyone has to “create a dress out of toilet paper.” I said what I said.

Allison Williams (best)

This is how you do a glamorous black dress. The fabric. The shape. It’s doing everything correctly.

Rosamund Pike (worst)

I don’t like this, but not for the reasons you think. It’s too short. The shoes are wrong. I wish the netting part was more of an illusion and the flowers went all the way to her hands. The headpiece is a choice. That’s neither here nor there. It’s a no from me.

Selena Gomez (worst)

Listen, I’m sorry. Don’t come for me. It’s not good! Objectively! The asymmetrical hem, the shoes, the thick black waiste band, the black nails. It looks like a relic from an episode of My Supper Sweet 16. The jewels are pretty.

Julia Garner (best)

Oh, this is a slay. The hair. The silver. The cut. The glam of it all. Down.

Natasha Lyonne (best)

The way I gasped when I saw this dress. I feel like it’s very possible I’m in the minority on this one, but I love it. I think it’s giving drama in all the right ways, though I’m not sure how comfortable she’ll be all night.

Dua Lipa (worst)

Not into this… entirely. Yes, she’s perfection, the shape is gorgeous, and the hair and necklace are everything. But! I don’t like the pattern! I wish it wasn’t there. It’s ruining it for me. Angry.

Meryl Streep (best)

Yes, mommy.

Florence Pugh (worst)

Plain and simple: The hair is bad and I’m worried she’s going to slip on the unreasonably long hem of this dress.

Helen Mirren (best)

HELEN. FUCKING. MIRREN. Absolutely.

Ariana Greenblatt (best)

The Barbie star is 16 and looks older and cooler than I ever will. Can’t help but support her in all future endeavors, especially on the red carpet.
