Unpacking Every Single Detail About Reality Von Tease

The season 4 finale of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City was 43 minutes of pure reality TV euphoria. It literally felt like an episode of a YA CW series. Twists! Turns! Betrayals! Revelations! Reveals! Perhaps the HBO Max Gossip Girl revival series wouldn’t have been cancelled if they took a page out of Monica Garcia’s book.

In the finale bombshell of all bombshells, Heather Gay outed Monica as the person behind the RHOSLC troll Insta account Reality Von Tease. In a cinematic moment on the Bermuda beach, Heather called a meeting of the minds with Lisa Barlow, Meredith Marks and Whitney Rose and told them, “Monica is not who she says she is. She’s not our friend. She’s someone that has schemed and worked to infiltrate our friend group. And the name that you all know her as, the woman whose birthday was celebrated, who we’ve been trying to champion and support and defend is Reality Von Tease.”

*a chorus of “no, no, no, nooooooo”s erupt*

Heather continues in her confessional, “Reality Von Tease was an Instagram account that was created over three years ago and was dedicated to annihilating and exposing Jen Shah, but it quickly expanded to troll all of us: me, Whitney, Meredith, Lisa. These were character assassinations. We never knew who it was.”

There is a lot to unpack here. Let’s break it all down.

What is Reality Von Tease?

The Reality Von Tease account’s bio reads: “Your local RHOSLC hot tea hoe. For entertainment purposes ONLY. ✨👄 🧾 💋 Black Lives Matter. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 #RHOSLC ❄️”

It mainly chronicles Jen Shah’s case and just trolls her in general. It’s full of photos and captions like this:

#shahmazing” No. Noooooo. How about SHAHdisgusting! SHAHfraud! SHAHcon! #SHAHthief #SHAHlying #SHAHdelusional #SHAHinmatenumber24218765 GTFOH with this shit! Fucking joke.”

And…

“You can run, but you can’t hide. Not even in a disguise!!!!🕵️‍♂️🕵️‍♀️🕵️‍♂️🕵️‍♀️🕵️‍♂️🕵️‍♀️ They about to inspector gadget your lyin, old, stanky ass!! Just follow the trail of narcissism, delusion, and botox.”

There are also IG highlights that have snark on the other cast members, hence why they all have such a problem with the account (minus the whole Monica being a double-agent thing).

Ok, so how did Heather find out Monica was behind the account?

Heather made the discovery after her hairdresser, Tenesha, who happens to be Monica’s friend, “came clean” about Monica’s involvement in the account.

What’d Monica have to say?

Naturally, when first confronted with it Monica was all “deny, deny, deny.” Then, her tune started to change when the reality of the situation started to sink in, saying…. “it’s not true entirely.” To which Lisa asks, “What does that mean ‘entirely’?” and Monica responds, “it means it’s part true.”

We’re getting warmer!!! In her confessional later she dropped what will likely go down as the greatest line of 2024: “Even Gossip Girl couldn’t stay Gossip Girl forever.”

This is really what they’re talking about when they say, “you can’t make this shit up.”
