Is it just me, or is everyone wearing tennis gear? Like, I was in a work meeting today and 3 out of 4 people were wearing white pleated mini skorts. Ever since we saw that infamous Halara Skirt (the jury is still out on whether or not I’ll get one) go viral on TikTok like, a year ago, it feels like the athletic influence of tennis has been slowly but surely taking over.
Don’t get me wrong, the athletic-inspired style has been around forever (looking at you, Princess Di) but it seems to have blown up over the last few months. I’m personally blaming the ~quiet luxury~ and nostalgia of it all (*cough cough* Sofia Richie) but I’m not complaining. If it means I get to wear sneakers and shorts under my skirt (a godsend for chafing in this summer heat) then I’m not mad about it. Let’s state the facts though: The closest I will get to playing tennis is commenting on how my local tennis court has been overrun by pickle ball players.
And while the trend feels super luxe, it’s actually pretty accessible in terms of price point which makes it attainable for normies (hi, it’s me) and super models alike. So, I found some pieces that totally ~serve~ that you can wear to your next country club meeting (LOL JK, unless you’re a real-life resident of Cousins Beach—IYKYK).
