Although the Justin Bieber, Hailey Bieber, and Selena Gomez love triangle drama is wayyyy in the past at this point, people (at least those who were raised by Jelena) remain fascinated by what went down and where Hailey and Justin stand with Selena today. Justin and Selena of course had a nearly decade-long, epic, on-and-off romance before they broke up for good and Justin got engaged to Hailey months later. (There have been lots of songs written about the complicated situation.) Ever since the engagement, Hailey’s had to deal with relentless online bullying. Hailey and Selena have publicly declared that they’re cool now, but there’s a new feud rumor about these two like every five minutes; it really seems like the online Justin/Selena/Hailey chaos will never end.

When/How Long Did Justin Bieber And Selena Gomez Date?

Jelena was a thing on and off from 2010 to 2018. During one of Justin and Selena’s “off” moments, Justin and Hailey kissed on New Year’s Eve in December 2015 and confirmed a “not exclusive,” brief romance. The singer got back together with Selena in 2017, and they broke up for good in March 2018.

July 7, 2018: Justin And Hailey Bieber Get Engaged

Justin popped the question while he and Hailey were vacationing in the Bahamas. (Don’t think anyone saw that coming so soon after his relationship with Selena ended.)

September 13, 2018: Justin And Hailey Bieber Get Married

Justin and Hailey tied the knot in a civil ceremony at a New York City courthouse and had a formal ceremony with friends and family about a year later. The 2019 wedding was held at Montage Palmetto Bluff in South Carolina.

October 23, 2019: Selena Seemingly Addresses Justin And Hailey’s Marriage In “Lose You To Love Me”

In the second verse of the heartbreak ballad, Selena seems to reference the brutal Justin/Hailey timeline. (Justin and Hailey got engaged reportedly just a few months after Justin and Selena split for the last time.) “In two months, you replaced us like it was easy / Made me think I deserved it in the thick of healing,” Selena sings.

September 28, 2022: Hailey Bieber’s Call Her Daddy Interview

During this wild episode, Hailey attempted to shut down rumors that she “stole” Justin from Selena. “I can say, period, point blank, I was never with him when he was in a relationship with anybody — that’s the end of it,” she told host Alex Cooper. Hailey also revealed that she and Selena had spoken since the wedding. “It’s all respect, it’s all love,” she claimed. “There’s no drama, personally.”

October 16, 2022: Selena And Hailey Take Photos Together

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures’ 2nd annual gala, you will always be famous. Years later, I’m still shocked that Selena and Hailey posed for these photos together (obviously a PR move, but still).

February 22, 2023: The Hailey, Kylie, Selena Eyebrow Drama

Oh, Eyebrow-gate. It all started when Selena posted a TikTok expressing concern that she over-laminated her eyebrows. Just a few hours later, Kylie Jenner posted a screenshot of her and Hailey showing off their eyebrows on FaceTime. A coincidence? The chronically online think not. When Selenators got pissed, Kylie claimed that her post had nothing to do with Selena, and Selena confirmed that they were cool.

But that same day, an old video of Hailey being mean to Taylor Swift resurfaced, and Selena was not having it. “So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game,” she commented in defense of her bestie.

March 6, 2025: Hailey’s Accused Of Liking A Shady TikTok About Selena

The shady TikTok in question? A creator named Courtney posted a video making fun of Selena and Benny’s Interview magazine shoot. “I genuinely can’t decide which is the worst,” she wrote. In a follow-up post, Courtney claimed that Hailey liked her video (and showed alleged screenshots of the notification). But Hailey’s rep denied the like in a statement: “This never happened. This entire story has been fabricated by a content creator looking to capitalize off of an old, tired narrative.”
