Brad Pitt is a busy man. He’s gearing up for the release of his new movie Wolfs, dating Ines De Ramon, and is probably working on several new projects as we speak. Not to mention, he’s in an ongoing legal battle with ex-wife Angelina Jolie over the division of assets and property they acquired while married. The A-listers, who split eight years ago, share six kids: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox. But how much time does Brad actually spend with them? Well, he doesn’t see all of them regularly because things are very complicated.
When Angelina filed for divorce, her rep said in a statement that the decision was “made for the health of the family.” That was a fairly vague reason, but in 2022, new reports suggested that the divorce was at least partially due to an alleged physical altercation on a private jet — an altercation that reportedly involved Brad mistreating her and their children. The kids range from teens to young adults in their 20s: Here’s where Brad stands with all of his children today.
Does Brad Pitt Talk To His Kids?
Brad Is Reportedly Estranged From Most Of His Kids
According to sources, Brad doesn’t see all of his kids regularly. In April, an insider told Life & Style, “Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Vivienne are all adamantly on Team Angie.” Maddox notably testified against Brad during a 2021 custody hearing, so it’s not super shocking that they aren’t close these days. His testimony apparently “wasn’t very flattering toward Brad.”
Zahara, Shiloh, And Vivienne Have Dropped Brad’s Last Name

When Brad’s oldest daughter Zahara was inducted into the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College in November 2023, she called herself Zahara Marley Jolie — no Pitt in there. That definitely felt like a statement. Her sister Vivienne recently followed suit, dropping Pitt from her name in the playbill for Broadway’s The Outsiders, which she and Angelina produced together.
Shiloh is the latest sibling to ditch the Pitt name. She turned 18 on May 27 and reportedly filed the paperwork requesting a legal name change that day. Oof.
Brad Reportedly Still Sees Some Of His Kids
It was recently reported that Brad is still in touch with his younger kids. In March, an insider told OK! that he does spend time with Shiloh as well as the twins, Knox and Vivienne. (Clearly, there are conflicting reports about his relationships with Vivienne and Shiloh, but the last name snubs are likely an indicator that they’re not on great terms with their father.) “Brad cherishes time with his kids and loves seeing them when he can, when he’s in town, once or twice a week,” the source said. “It’s definitely something he prioritizes.”
