Being A Pillow Princess Isn't Lazy, It's About Being The Ruler Of The Bedroom

November 18 is National Princess Day, which means we need to talk about the royalty that really matters: Pillow princesses. Us pillow princesses get a bad rep. People assume that a pillow princess is someone who’s lazy, unimaginative, and doesn’t do anything except lay there like a dead fish during sex. But we’re so much more complex than that. The thrill of being a pillow princess isn’t that you don’t have to do anything (there are plenty of sex positions where being on the bottom still requires a lot of work and flexibility), but rather that you have a partner who’s willing to take care of you wholly. It’s called being a pillow princess, not a pillow potato — we lay back and let you go to work because we’re fucking royalty, duh.

What Is A Pillow Princess?

Now, everyone has a slightly different definition of what a pillow princess is. The truth is that it’s a term that’s pretty much been co-opted from the LGBTQ+ community. Originally, the word describes a queer woman who receives sexual stimulation rather than giving it. Today, it’s pretty much become an umbrella term for any person who may take the less active role in the bedroom, typically by being physically under the giver. The assumption is that if you’re doing a lot of positions where your head stays on the pillow, you’re a pillow princess. Either way, pillow princesses are often looked at as selfish and good-for-nothing — but this is so far from the truth, because for us, it’s the act of being taken care of that’s so incredibly hot.

In my eyes, there’s so much more of a dominance factor that goes into being a pillow princess than you’d think. Sure, we’re “just laying there” as our partners rail us, but there’s a huge power in having a partner cater to your sexual needs without any expectation of getting something in return.

I’m a woman who primarily has sex with men. If you know anything about men, you know that they’re selfish, uncaring, and stingy in bed. Do you know how iconic it is to be a pillow princess when you’re a woman who has sex with men? To be in a position where a man will just take care of you sexually without expecting anything themselves? To get men to just throw you around in different positions because nothing turns them on more than seeing you experience pleasure? Exactly.

Princesses in the diplomatic world are rulers who are pampered — and a pillow princess is not too far off. If you’re looking for sex positions that’ll help you embody your inner pillow princess, here are some things to try aside from just missionary.

Descent

You don’t even need a pillow for this move. Lay horizontally on a couch so that your butt is on the armrest, your shoulders and back on the seat, and your legs are up in the air. Then, have your partner grab your legs and rest them on their shoulders.

Licking Master

Sit on the edge of a chair with one of your arms rested on the seat to give you balance as you lean back. Spread your legs and have your partner kneel in front of you, then take one of your legs and raise them so that they’re resting on your partner’s back. You can sit comfortably as they give you the oral you deserve.

Slope

You know how as a kid you’d hang your head off the edge of the bed so that you’d get a rush of blood to your head? Well, this is the adult version of that. Hang your head off the edge and reach back with your arms, while keeping your body on the bed. Then, have your partner sit on their knees and grab your thighs so you’re straddling their sides.
