These Celebs Over 60 Say Their Sex Lives Only Improved With Age

How do you imagine yourself at age 60? Besides splitting my time between my homes in Cinque Terre and Napa (a girl can dream), thanks to “senior” celebrities, I have hope I’ll still be getting down on the regular.

Jane Seymour is having “more wonderful and passionate sex” than ever at age 72 — and she credits her maturity as the key factor. “The older I get, the more sex is built on emotional intimacy, on having shared the ups and downs of life with someone – our feelings, our joys, our sadness, our mutual passions and desire,” she told Cosmopolitan in January. Jane and her boyfriend John Zambetti’s sex life is “built on trust, love, and experience.” Cute!

She’s not the only celebrity eligible for social security who has made their bedroom life hotter than whatever quickie happened with this past weekend’s Hinge date. Suzanne Somers gave enough quotes about her sex life to write a Sarah J. Maas book — and that was just in her last decade of life. She and her husband, Alan Hamel, had sex multiple times a day, and he felt particularly, er, frisky in the middle of the night. I’m begging you to acknowledge these are her words, not mine.

“At this stage of life, most people think that’s, you know, over the hill, too much information,” she said about her sex life on Heather Dubrow’s podcast in 2021 (Suzanne was 74 and Alan was 84). “But what time is it, like noon? I’ve had sex with him three times so far today. What is it about 4:30 in the morning that suddenly, there he is? I’m going, ‘Could you just wait until the sun comes up?’”

The Three’s Company actress credited her “amazing” relationship at the time to the fact that they had no interruptions (aka no damn kids in the house), saying, “Now that our kids are raised and it’s just me and Al, and we paid for the tuition, we paid for the weddings and helped them get their start – now it’s just us. Man, are we having fun.”

If this sounds a little *too* good to be true, even Suzanne’s friends doubted her and Alan’s endurance during their relationship. “It’s no forced march,” Suzanne continued. “I’m in the mood. He’s in the mood. Sometimes it’s once a day. Sometimes, later in the day, you’re in the mood again because what are you going to do?” RIP, legend.

Not every 60+ celebrity feels like they’re in their bedroom era, and that’s okay. The biggest takeaway from these (mostly TMI) quotes is to do what feels good and fuck the rest. If you have any doubts, take it from Joan Collins: Sex keeps you young!

“I do think that desire levels change for a man. That’s just the natural evolution of life. So it’s figuring out how to coexist without taking that personally as a woman,” the former Real Housewives star told Cosmopolitan in 2024. “I think that it’s almost more about companionship and about creating space for the ebb and flow of sexuality.”

Lisa and her husband, Harry Hamlin, have “great sex together,” but she gives a realistic view of what happens behind closed doors. “It’s just that maybe it doesn’t happen quite as often as it did when you’re in your 30s and in your 20s, I would say,” she said. “And I think that’s normal.”

“I actually have a friend with benefits!” the former Brady Bunch actress said on Today in 2015 — at age 81! — about her hunky Fort Lauderdale chiropractor booty call. “There is no age limit on the enjoyment of sex. You learn to do things with more experience, intelligence, and the ability to choose more wisely.”

The devil works hard, but Kris Jenner works harder to let everyone know she likes sex with boyfriend Corey Gamble.

“My girls were giving me a hard time because I have a life, and I’m a woman with hormones,” the momager said on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. “Sex at my age is a beautiful thing, and my girls don’t understand that I’m actually so lucky to have these feelings.”

Kris described her beau as a “walking, talking Luther Vandross song,” but I am too young to understand that reference.

“God bless her that she likes older guys,” Michael Douglas told AARP about his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones. “And some wonderful enhancements have happened in the last few years — Viagra, Cialis — that can make us all feel younger.”

Jane Fonda

In 2012, Jane Fonda’s sex life was popping off.

“At 74, I have never had such a fulfilling sex life. When I was young, I had so many inhibitions—I didn’t know what I desired,” she said.

No one:

Sting about wife Trudie Styler: “I don’t think pedestrian sex is very interesting. There’s a playfulness we have; I like the theater of sex. I like her to dress up.’’

In 2013, Betty White confirmed she was still horny at 91.

“Does desire melt away with age? I’m waiting for that day to come,” she said. “But if Robert Redford were around, we’d have a very active sex life.”

Joan Collins

Joan Collins once said sex was one of the “best and cheapest beauty treatments for women.” Take that, La Mer.

“Sex should be as natural and healthy a part of your life as eating and drinking. As you get older, you have more time for sex,” she said. “We don’t stop sexual activity because we grow old. We grow old because we stop sexual activity. And it’s quality, not quantity, that counts.”

Making love is like hitting a baseball. You just gotta relax and concentrate.” No further questions.

With age came a new perspective on sexuality and gender for Helen Mirren.

“I came to the conclusion an awfully long time ago that there is black and there is white, and we’re all somewhere in the middle in a wonderful mix of male and female,” she told Radio Times Magazine in 2019. “There is no such thing as binary sexuality when you’re male or female. I don’t believe that at all.”

She feels proud to own her sexuality, comparing some of her traits to Catherine the Great, whom she portrayed in the namesake HBO miniseries. “I felt it was my right to have affairs, and be in love with people, and to live with them. I’m a bit like Catherine.”
