“People might wrongly believe they have a hormonal imbalance and stress over it, potentially leading to unhealthy behaviors or treatments,” Dr. Rocco says. So before you start adding all those trendy adaptogens to your cart, let’s talk about some ways to get your cortisol under control without needing to buy a whole new skincare routine.

Get Some Actual Sleep

Your body heals and recharges when you’re asleep, so make sure you’re clocking in enough hours. Minimum seven!

Move Your Body

Exercise helps burn off excess cortisol like magic. But don’t go overboard — running yourself ragged at the gym can have the opposite effect.
