What do Vanderpump Rules stars, Beyoncé, and JoJo Siwa have in common? Not much, but they did all attend the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards for some reason. I honestly didn’t expect to see any of these ladies there, considering the only musicality in Vanderpump is Sandoval’s band (lol), JoJo’s claim to musical fame is “Karma,” and Beyoncé is, like, stratospheres above this award show. But apparently, the iHeart Awards are something I should be paying attention to ’cause what an intriguing bunch.
A few celebs dazzled in gorgeous dresses and bodysuits for the yellow carpet, but I gotta say… there was quite a lot to mock. JoJo’s look was frankly a jump scare that I may not recover from, and Meghan Trainor and Avril Lavigne also really had me cringing. As a seasoned fashion expert, here’s my professional list of the best and worst dressed stars at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Rachel Leviss – Best
Sigh. It pains me to say it, but the Vanderpump villain kinda ate with this sequin gown featuring a sexy thigh slit. It’s flattering, classic, and sophisticated… you almost forget her sins for .2 seconds.
Meghan Trainor – Worst
Well, as Meghan would say, she definitely “made look.” However, I’m not looking in a good way. I love pink on her but am extremely confused by this over-complicated half-shirt-half-dress situation. It’s a lot.
Beyoncé – Best
The queen obviously has a habit of serving, and this evening was no different. She radiated fierce Cowboy Carter energy in a bejeweled leather bodysuit with fringe, multiple belts, and a matching cowboy hat.
JoJo Siwa – Worst
Um. I’m not sure where to start with this look. I’ll be generous and say she was probably inspired by 2013 Miley Cyrus. However, it’s giving… an even younger version of Disney’s Descendants and/or your kid getting really into Halloween. I daresay we need a new stylist to step in.
Tate McRae – Best
As the kids say, “What’s four plus four?” (Eight as in ate.) Listen, this gold minidress with white lace isn’t necessarily blowing me away, but it is just the iHeart Awards. Why not go simple and playful? The rising star looked fabulous.
SZA – Worst
She’s literally one of the most gorgeous women on the planet, but the yellow isn’t doing it for me, sorry. I get that it matches the carpet. I just don’t think it’s the best color on her, and it’s also kinda boring and too casual even for this semi-fake award show.
Katie Maloney – Best
My favorite Vanderpump girlie simply can’t stop slaying these days. I adore this sparkly silver number on her, and the puff sleeves are so fitting for her personality. Plus, her shoes are so cute!!
Avril Lavigne – Worst
Sigh. Listen, I stan Avril always, and I still regularly shriek “Sk8er Boi” in my bedroom, but at some point, we all need to move on from the early 2000s and our teenage “rebellious punk” phases. She’s just not giving adult like I want her to.
Ice Spice – Honorable Mention
Obsessed with the daring ~bra~ and jacket combo and love the subtle glam and iconic nails. The skirt is throwing me off a little bit, but she still slayed.
