Fortunately for girls, the mentally ill, Scorpios, teens, teens in their twenties, etc, we’re definitely getting a Tell Me Lies season 3! Once again, we’ll get to watch the new episodes right at midnight, have awful Stephen-related nightmares, completely ruin our beauty sleep, and wake up in a cold sweat, stressed about the show. It’s a powerful experience. I can’t wait to do it again.

The Hulu drama had me hooked after season 1, but season 2 was actually the emotional roller coaster of a lifetime. As if Lucy and Stephen’s vile relationship and Macy’s death, plus the secrets surrounding it, weren’t enough drama, we got the problematic lie of the century and a deeply concerning professor/student relationship last season. On December 19, Variety reported that Hulu has officially confirmed a Tell Me Lies season 3. Hallelujah! Praise the TV drama lords.

In an October 2024 interview with Variety, show creator Meaghan Oppenheimer revealed that season 3 “would probably be a time jump” rather than picking up the show at the next semester. “I think by the third season, we will still have some 2008 because there’s stuff that we have to wrap up there,” she explained. “But I think it would be a little bit shifted in the sense that there will probably be more 2015 than 2008.” Works for me… there’s plenty to explore with these characters in 2015.

What The Cast Has Said About Tell Me Lies Season 3

“It’s gonna be crazy,” Grace Van Patten (Lucy) teased to E! News at the August 2025 premiere of The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox. She added, “It feels like the peak of all these young people’s worst decisions.” (Didn’t know it was possible for them to make worse decisions!) Speaking to Screen Rant, Tom Ellis (Oliver) revealed that he thinks season 3 will be the last season. “I think Meghan has written [it] to be the last season,” he said. “For sure, yeah.” … Um, I need to go mourn this devastating news. The actor also said that the next season is the “darkest” yet.

Sadly, there’s no premiere date for season 3 yet. However, season 2 premiered nearly two years after season 1 ended, and I am praying for a much shorter wait this time. But we’ll see.

Who’s In The Tell Me Lies Season 3 Cast?

TBD, but I have my suspicions about who we can expect to return to the show. Obviously, it wouldn’t be Tell Me Lies without Grace Van Patten as Lucy Albright and Jackson White as Stephen DeMarco. Plus, we need to know more about the origins of the Stephen and Lydia and Diana and Pippa relationships, so surely Natalee Linez (Lydia), Alicia Crowder (Diana), and Sonia Mena (Pippa) would all return too.

If Catherine Missal (Bree), Tom Ellis (Oliver), and Gabriella Pession (Marianne) aren’t back to give us more of that fucked up but fascinating dynamic, I will personally start riots in the streets. And of course, we have to keep an eye on Wrigley after that horrific tragedy, so it seems like Spencer House would come back to play the lovable athlete. Considering Bree’s marrying Evan in 2015 (maybe??), I’d assume Branden Cook would return to play Stephen and Wrigley’s pal.

Tell Me Lies Season 3 Plot

Well, Meaghan already said there would probably be a time jump, so I’m not sure if we’ll see the immediate aftermath of the dumpster fire that is season 2 episode 8. However, I’m hoping my burning finale questions will still get answered. Does Oliver face any consequences for taking advantage of Bree, and does Marianne face any for playing the twisted game with him?? Are these three still speaking to each other in 2015? Does Bree actually get married, or does she totally ditch Evan and Lucy after that damning audio message? I also need to know if Pippa ever reports Chris and whether or not Lucy’s lie winds up damaging their friendship later.

I’m not sure how much more of Lucy and Stephen my stomach can take, but there’s obviously a lot more to that story. Plus, I cannot believe people still don’t know that Stephen was involved in Macy’s death. I am so very thrilled that we’ll get answers to at least some of these questions in a new season!!
