Craig Conover Admits Paige DeSorbo's "Confusing" Behavior Should've Been A Red Flag

For those of you who think love is dead because Paige and Craig broke up, you might want to mentally prepare yourself for the rest of Southern Charm season 10 and Summer House season 9, for that matter. Despite both Paige, Craig and their cronies denying that a breakup was imminent over several mediums and occasions, the slow-motion demise of their relationship was captured on their respective Bravo series filmed in 2024. Rumors aside, having an inside look at their relationship for the last few years makes their breakup not incredibly surprising, right? I mean, they had a glaring 700-mile problem standing in the way of their relationship going any further that neither party seemed willing to budge on. I know The Gigglers always got a good kick out of Paige and Craig’s solo scenes, but I guess now that the other shoe has dropped, it’s low-key sad to see the writing on the wall. For the last time (let that sink in) Paige and Craig’s Southern Charm moments are up for dissection.

Paige And Craig Southern Charm Moments

Craig said Paige offered to move to Charleston, then took it back

In the seventh episode of Southern Charm’s tenth season, Craig admits to Shep, “I think everyone knows that like if it was up to me we would just get engaged.” So why didn’t they? Craig explained that Paige “[changed] her mind about stuff” often, meaning “one day she [would] text him ‘let’s build a fucking farmhouse in the middle of nowhere’ or like ‘I’m moving to Charleston’.”

But then after a “good day in New York,” Paige would make it clear she was actually staying put, which Shep suggested was probably “hard to hear.” Craig conceded it was “confusing.” Waiting a few years to have a kid to align with Paige’s vision of her future was “not a big deal,” Craig confessed to the cameras, but he understood the real risk was if “Paige [wanted] to turn those couple years into ten years.”

Soooo… all the theories that Craig was willing to compromise on his timeline but Paige’s priorities didn’t let her to do the same are sounding pretty dead on rn. Sad!

In a flashback  at the top of episode 4 of season 10, Craig tells Paige that he was “thinking about freezing his sperm.” Wow, I didn’t know men needed to do that but hey, you learn something new every day! Paige was also wowed by this news (she actually called it “the craziest thing in the world”) but probably for different reasons than me since Paige has made it incredibly clear that she’s not ready to have children or settle down yet. In an interview clip discussing the future kids sitch, Craig said he craves the “stability” of family life he had as a child but meeting “the right person” even if it happens to be “a feisty Italian from New York” could be worth changing how he’d always planned his life to go. Hate to agree with Shep, but perhaps Craig was agreeing too much by putting off his “certainty” dream for Paige.

Later in the same episode, Craig Facetimes Paige to get her opinion on designing the “FROG” (that’s the front room over the garage, for the city dwellers in the building). Paige shuts down Craig’s attempts to consider her by saying “Don’t worry about me, you do what you want with that room.” Mmmmm that doesn’t sound like a woman planning on moving in one day, especially one with a lot of loud Amazon-sponsored aesthetic opinions like Paige. Paige does get excited about the prospect of Craig being able to hem her pants in his crafting corner, but has no idea what she would put in a corner of her own in the room… yeah, I think that speaks for itself.

Craig’s friends think Paige isolates him from the group

So, this scene is currently only available in the trailer, but it feels relevant now. Craig fills Paige in on the fact that his friends think he’s changed from the Craigy they knew and loved, and Paige isn’t having it. “Austen and Shep are foaming at the mouth to say you’ve changed because of me” were her exact words, for the record. FWIW, Craig has changed and it’s deffo for the better, so if I were Paige, I’d be happy to take some of the credit. The topic of Craig “cutting himself off from everyone” first came to Craig’s attention after Craig told Austen that his feelings were hurt when Patricia didn’t invite him to her birthday dinner (yes, we are in a world where missing an invite from an 83-year-old is a snub).

Austen used this opportunity to call Craig out for being MIA due to all the time he spends laying low at his newly built home, working, and going out of town to be with Paige. I actually think Craig’s MO of “making money, getting healthy, and fucking [his] girlfriend” is a pretty healthy line-up for men at their big age. Austen mumbling to camera a list of non-drinking activities he would happily do with Craig (that were all 100% things he’s historically done with a beer in his hand) was pretty funny though.

Craig called his backyard a “sanctuary” he built for Paige

In a preview for a future season 10 episode, Craig details how he and Paige used to “party” all the time but have “grown together” to prefer relaxing in his gorg backyard. Craig says in no uncertain terms he “built this sanctuary” for himself and Paige “to relax and get away from the world.” The editors do Paige no favors when showing her lost in her own world on her phone as Craig waxes poetic about the grill he bought his “chicken.” It’s almost like they knew something we didn’t?
