JoJo Siwa Had A Major Revelation About Her Sexuality In The 'Celeb Big Brother' House

JoJo Siwa was literally born to be on reality TV, so it’s no surprise she’s become the undeniable main character of Celebrity Big Brother. From scandalous flirty moments with a costar to major revelations about her identity, the Dance Moms legend has had quite a journey in that house so far. There’s been nonstop buzz around her very close bond with Love Island star Chris Hughes — despite JoJo being in a relationship — thanks to their touchy-feely vibes and Chris’s eyebrow-raising comments about kissing her and being her baby daddy. Speaking of… Has anyone checked in on JoJo’s partner, Kath Ebbs??

On top of that drama, JoJo had a pretty tense exchange with housemate Mickey Rourke, who made gross, homophobic comments to her. (He’s since been kicked off the show, thank god.) Although the “Karma” singer has previously identified as lesbian, her time on Big Brother has led her to a new understanding of her sexuality. She’s also opened up, for the first time, about her complex journey with gender identity.

Here’s everything JoJo Siwa has revealed so far about her sexuality and gender on Celebrity Big Brother.

During the April 22 livestream of the show, JoJo opened up about her evolving understanding of her sexuality to her costar, drag performer Danny Beard. “I feel, like, so queer, do you know what I mean?” she said. “I’ve always told myself I’m a lesbian, and I think being here I’ve realized: ‘Oh, I’m not a lesbian, I’m queer,’ and I think that’s really cool.” (This just means that she isn’t only attracted to women — her sexuality is more fluid.) Danny responded with a supportive hug and a kiss on her head.

Clearly feeling empowered, JoJo yelled, “I’m switching letters! Fuck the L, I’m going to the Q! That’s what I love about sexuality.” Earlier in the season, when Mickey bluntly asked whether she prefers “boys or girls,” she replied, confidently: “Me? Girls. My partner is nonbinary.”

JoJo’s revelation about identifying as “queer” rather than “lesbian” comes after her candid reflections about her gender identity. While chatting with Chris about the subject, she began to cry. “Essentially, you have female, you have male,” JoJo told her friend and costar. “I’ve met a lot of females, love them, don’t feel like them. Met a lot of males, love them, definitely not them.” She added that she also has “beautiful nonbinary people” in her life and they are who she “feels the most like.” JoJo noted that she’s not ready to give herself the nonbinary label yet, but it’s “confusing” sometimes.

“It’s important to be honest, and I think it’s important to also show that it’s okay to not know,” she said. JoJo also got emotional about the topic during a conversation with other costars. She shared that she’s “afraid” to speak about gender because she’s “not sure” about her identity yet.

Here’s hoping JoJo gets all the support and understanding she deserves as she continues to explore her gender and sexuality!
