I can’t say 2024’s Award Season red carpets have blown me away. I can’t even say I’ve liked them. It’s like everyone’s either dying to be meme’d or playing it so safe so they don’t get meme’d. The only thing that I’ve been thinking about this season is the fact Margot Robbie has finally been freed from the shackles of Chanel. Thank god. But the Grammys are doing it a bit better. Boring outfits are pretty much gone. But don’t equate not-boring with good, I’m not saying that. Please. The 2024 Grammys red carpet are doing more than the rest. Outfits are questionable, yes, but I’m not nearly as bored as I was during the Emmys <3.
We’re rounding up the best and worst dressed stars of the night, because it’s fun to be betchy and judgey.
The Best and Worst Dressed Stars At The 2024 Grammys
Dua Lipa: Best
I can’t be the only one silently celebrating the fact Dua Lipa not wearing something Barbie-core for the Grammys. I think this silver, scaley look is really cool. But the proportions feel off with this? The v-neck is too low, the bottom is baggy, the cut outs feel misplaced. BUT, it’s still a win.
Kat Graham: Worst
What is this and why. Illusions? Weird should pads? A cape? Groundbreaking.
Laverne Cox: Best
Laverne dying her eyebrows blonde to match her hair got her a spot on this very esteemed Best and Worst Dressed list. I love when celebs go the full nine yards. This dress is couture, and it’s cool! But I’m really just into the hair and brows.
Kelly Osbourne: Worst
This sucks. Starting from the bottom, I hate the dark pedicure. Hate the length of the dress. The top part had potential, but it’s ill-fitting. Purse is a cliché. But I will give her flowers for staying true to her purple hair. She’s nothing if not committed.
Alix Earle: Best-(ish)
I’m kind of neither here nor there with this. I really love the hair, and if the dress was anything but vintage Alexander McQueen (I saw it on her GRWM, I hate myself), I wouldn’t bother including her on the list.
Fantasia Barrino: Worst
If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all…
Ed Sheeran: Worst
Go, Ed! Give us nothing! He’s horrifying in camo and the shoes are offensive.
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend: Best
Possibly my favorite of the night? Unexpected. John’s outfit is fab, but the bar is very low for men. I love Chrissy’s dress, it’s eye-catching without being obnoxious. Her hair color and styling is making me question whether or not I could pull off a fuck-ass bob. And I am currently Googling where I can order her shoes.
Heidi Klum: Worst
This looks like what that girl your mom told you not to hang out with wore to senior prom.
Doja Cat: Worst
Awful. I don’t even hate the sheer dress, really I don’t! I hate the shoes, and the glasses, and the earrings and the makeup. She looks like Linda from HR asking you why the hell you don’t know what a 401k is. Bad.
Olivia Rodrigo: Best
While it kind of looks like the Shein version of Kim’s Marilyn Met Gala dress, it’s vintage Versace and it’s working.
Miley Cyrus: Best
There’s truly no one I love more than Miley Cyrus. I see what she was going for her, and I can’t fault her for that, but certain elements just really aren’t working here for me. The crotch tassel. No. The mustard velvet hoof heels. No, thanks. The hair is a choice… that I hate. Her makeup truly couldn’t be more perfect though, a small victory.
Taylor Swift: Best
I’m giving it to her this time. I love Taylor, so much. And this was a big night for her! This dress is FABULOUS. Obsessed. The necklaces are quirky but I don’t hate! The gloves, boooooooooo. Over them. And I swear I am not being dramatic when I say I’d rather lick the subway floor than allow Taylor bring back side bangs.
