We Asked Our Dads What They Wanted For Father's Day And The Results Are...Dad

Ah, Father’s Day. I’ve honestly dreaded the day since I was old enough to buy my own gifts instead of just signing my name on the card my older sister bought. It’s not that I don’t want to celebrate the guy who single-handedly gave me a sense of humor (dad jokes and all), but because he either A) has everything, or B) buys himself the gift I got him the DAY before Father’s Day.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s easy (and practical) to gift dad all the boring shit he actually needs, but it feels impossible to get the guy a gift he legit wants. IDK about you, but I want my dad to be as excited about his Father’s Day gift as I would be about getting floor seats to the Eras Tour. So, I decided to go straight to the source (and by source I mean, I asked Betches HQ dads for a screenshot of their recent order history) to find gifts that’ll have him thinking you’re a genius, and maybe even shed a tear.

The “First Time Out West” Starter Pack

I’m just waiting for the “camping is in-tents!” joke after seeing this shopping cart. If the dad in your life has been talking about getting out into the wilderness but has been dragging his feet on getting a good pair of hiking boots, this is your moment to shine. It’ll show that you’re actually listening to his interests instead of only asking him to come over when your car needs an oil change.

The “Grilling Is My Main Personality Trait” Dad

Dads to a grill are like moths to a flame—you just can’t keep them away. Instead of going for the normal grill set, get him the accouterments for outdoor dining he never knew he needed. It’s giving backyard BBQ, but upgraded.

The Post-Quarantine Back-To-Work Necessity

Nothing feels more “dad” than asking for a screenshot of their most recent purchase and getting an actual photo of their computer screen. That said, just like you Dads are going back to the office too, and after 3 years of sweatpants, he’s probably going to need an upgrade to his wardrobe. These blazers will have him rambling on about how he can still clean up nice.

King of The Kitchen

If your dad is even remotely good at cooking anything more intricate than pasta and a jar of sauce, you’ve probably heard about it. He probably even refers to the one Groupon cooking class he took to as the time he “went to culinary school.” Alas, while (for some dads) it doesn’t happen often, being in the kitchen brings them a lot of joy. So, inspire them to learn yet another hobby (or encourage them to help clean up) with a few kitchen essentials.

The Car Is His Favorite Child

When a dad is into cars, he’s usually all in—meaning that he probably spends his Saturday afternoons at the carwash instead of at your Birthday brunch (JK, but like, not really). So, get him a few things to keep the car in tip-top shape so he can spend less time cleaning it and more time letting you be the passenger princess that you are.
