Some of us are counting down the days ’till Billie Eilish’s new album, Hit Me Hard and Soft. Her recent Barbie song, “What Was I Made For?,” has won every award known to woman, but we haven’t gotten actual Billie music since her random pair of 2022 songs, “TV” and “The 30th.” The last full album of hers was Happier Than Ever in 2021, which changed my life. (I will never recover from seeing the title track live… “catharsis” doesn’t adequately describe the screams I screamed.)
As of late, Billie has been super open and honest about her sexuality and masturbation habits. She’s confirmed that she’s attracted to women, and thanks to a wild Rolling Stone interview, we now all know that Billie basically has a “Ph.D. in masturbation” and likes to look in the mirror while partaking. She also previewed a brand new song, “Lunch,” at Coachella, which includes the lyrics: “I could eat that girl for lunch / And she dances on my tongue / Tastes like she might be the one.” This album comes out on May 17 and it’s gonna be fucking fire. Billie Eilish’s Dating History
Brandon Quention Adams: 2018–June 2019
Billie had a mostly private relationship with rapper Brandon Quention Adams who goes by the stage name, 7:AMP. She got real about their split in her 2021 documentary Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry. “I just wasn’t happy,” she shared. “I didn’t want the same things he wanted, and I don’t think that’s fair for him.” Personally, I was not that mature at age 17.
She added, “I do love him, though, which made it harder. I’m not over him; I didn’t find someone else. I didn’t stop having love for him. I just spent time away from him for a little bit, and I was like, ‘Wow! I’m missing so much because I’m worried about you all the time, and I don’t want what you want, and you don’t want what I want.’” Apparently, Billie tried to “fix” him but couldn’t. A tale as old as time… I need to go listen to Taylor Swift’s “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can).”
Matthew Tyler Vorce: April 2021–May 2022
The singer did not go public with actor and writer Matthew Tyler Force, but there were photos of her getting cozy with him in Santa Barbara. The age gap was kinda concerning —she was 19 and he was 29. He seemed to allude to their breakup in a May 2022 Insta Story, writing, “Nobody cheated on anyone. Relationships end. Simple as that. Creating rumors and LYING on the internet is dangerous.” There ya have it.
Jesse Rutherford: October 2022–May 2023
This is my least favorite subject, but Billie did unfortunately have a serious relationship with The Neighbourhood’s Jesse Rutherford. The public found out about their romance in October 2022 when photos of them kissing at a restaurant surfaced online.
At the time, Billie was 20 and Jesse was 31, so people did not approve… which brought us to the awful age gap joke. In a now-deleted Insta post, Billie shared a photo of herself dressed as a baby and Jesse dressed as an old man for Halloween. “Life is craaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy,” she captioned it. Life is crazy, but that post was crazier, I fear.
Our girl then went viral for bragging about Jesse during a cringe Vanity Fair interview. “I not only was known by a person that I thought was the hottest fucking fucker alive, but pulled his ass,” she exclaimed. “Are you kidding me? Can we just—round of applause for me. Thank you! Jesse Rutherford, everyone! I pulled his ass—all me! I did that shit. I locked that motherfucker down.” To this day, I have no comment.
The love did not last. Billie’s rep confirmed in May 2023 that she and Jesse split “amicably,” and they remained friends.
Possibly Odessa A’zion: Late 2023-2024

There’s no confirmation that Billie and actress Odessa A’zion are or were a real item, but some fans think there’s something going on there. After coming out as queer in a Variety interview, Billie posted and then deleted a video of her making out with Odessa in November 2023. The singer also kissed Odessa and danced with her at 2024 Coachella, sooo, I feel like this is a fair theory. There are a lot of photos where they look kinda coupley… example above. Perhaps Odessa inspired some Hit Me Hard and Soft tracks??
