Love Island fans are in shock this week following the unexpected breakup of season 6 stars JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez. On July 27, JaNa and several of her Love Island friends (Serena Page, Leah Kateb, Miguel Harichi, Kordell Beckham, Liv Walker, Kaylor Martin, and Connor Newsum) abruptly unfollowed Kenny on Instagram. Fans also noticed that JaNa and Kenny removed each other from their Instagram bios, and later that day, TMZ confirmed that JaNa had ended the relationship that morning. It was confusing because less than 24 hours before, the couple appeared to be on good terms, laughing and partying together at David Dobrik’s birthday party. The internet swiftly ran wild with theories about what could’ve happened in this short amount of time.
As of now, neither JaNa nor Kenny has fully explained the situation, but they’ve both released vague statements on Instagram. Meanwhile, JaNa’s friends seem to be dropping not-so-subtle hints about what may have led to the breakup. Everyone who knows the couple IRL appears to be Team JaNa… So, what the hell did Kenny do to JaNa? Here’s everything we know about this complicated breakup so far.
What Did Kenny Do To JaNa? Breakup Timeline Explained
What Have JaNa And Kenny Said About The Breakup?
On July 31, JaNa shared a few videos on her Instagram Stories, speaking about the breakup. “Hi, I’m okay,” she said. “I pinky promise… It has been an overflow of support and prayers.”
JaNa explained that she want’s to “close this chapter” of her life. “I don’t want it to take any more of my energy,” she added. “If we can all agree to close this chapter, it’s draining me.” JaNa emphasized that she “needs to move on” and “God knows what happened and that’s all that matters.” She didn’t go into detail about what happened.
In a second Story, she urged fans to leave Kenny’s family out of it. “”You guys, if you genuinely love me, I’m begging you: Please leave Kenny’s family alone,” she said. “That family did nothing wrong to me. They’ve been through enough. They’ve been apologizing to me. They’ve always been nice to me.”

On July 29, JaNa broke her silence on the sudden split. “Hi my loves,” she wrote in an Instagram Story. “Thank you for all your love & support. It means the world to me. As you know, Kenny and I are no longer together.”
“Please know that I have seen all the breakup theories and none have matched up to how terrible, disgusting and disappointing it truly is,” she added. “Discovering that someone you loved isn’t who you thought they were and that the relationship you thought you were building hasn’t been genuine since day one has been truly devastating.”
JaNa concluded her message, “Thank you for respecting my privacy and please know as a child of God, I will always be okay.”

Shortly after she shared her IG statement, Kenny shared his own. In his Story, he said the past few days were “incredibly difficult” and that he’s been “sitting with a lot of emotions and doing my best to process everything privately.”
“Breakups are never easy, especially in the public eye,” he wrote. “Sometimes, despite how deeply you care for someone, you come to the hard truth that the relationship was not something that could last long-term.” Kenny noted that he’ll always be grateful for his time with JaNa and added, “I release this chapter with no ill will, only a hope that JaNa’s path forward brings her nothing but happiness.”
JaNa was not having it. A few minutes later, she replied on her Story, writing: “Stfu you manipulative liar. You not taking accountability and telling people the type of person you really are is insane to me!! My first statement was me being nice. Do not piss me off.”
What Have JaNa’s Friends Said About The Breakup?

While JaNa hasn’t offered details yet, her friends have been hinting that Kenny was allegedly “racist” and only in the relationship for “clout.” Leah reposted JaNa’s Story, calling out Kenny and added, “Put a sock in it ChatGPT headass. Tell the truth for once! Racist, clout/money hungry and a scammer since DAY 1!!!!”

Leah also commented on Kenny’s post alleging he was deleting her comments. (She’d previously commented on his most recent post, “Delete my man off your page you clout demon.”)
Her comments followed a Deuxmoi report (take that with a grain of salt, obviously) that JaNa allegedly found texts on Kenny’s phone about “his plan to stay with her for business/clout, texts with friends calling her r*c*s* names.”

JaNa’s friend, Charmane Smith, also shared a message that aligns with the breakup theory. “My advice for women in relationships: If you have access, go thru your man’s phone TODAY,” Charmane wrote in an Instagram Story. She advised, “Search keywords like ‘I don’t like black women, I thought I could get more money from this, I’m faking this relationship, going on the show would be for clout, I can’t wait to be done w this so I can fuck hella b*tches.'”
Liv and Kaylor shared Instagram Stories supporting JaNa and calling out Kenny. “Your pathetic excuse for a story is laughable,” Liv wrote about Kenny’s statement. “I hope this gives you the clout you always wanted you fucking loser.” Kaylor chimed in, “Kenny is a poor excuse of a man. you lost the most beautiful, genuine soul. Shame on you.”
