TS12 Is Upon Us! Everything To Know About Taylor Swift's 'The Life Of A Showgirl'

The Life Of a Swiftie is staying up too late on a school night (12:12 a.m. in this case) to see what announcement you’re getting at the end of a mysterious, sparkly orange website countdown. Fortunately, it was worth the effort this time because Taylor Swift’s latest announcement is a major one: TS12 is coming soon, and it’s called The Life of a Showgirl. Goodbye tortured poets, hello showgirls!

The pop icon teased the new project with the help of her podcast bro BF, Travis Kelce, and his co-host and brother, Jason Kelce. She’s set to appear on the August 13 episode of their podcast, New Heights, and in a preview clip, she shows the football stars the new cover (which is blurred for now). “TS12!” the No. 1 Swiftie, Travis, cheers in response.

On Taylor’s website, you can now find the blurred orange and green cover and options to order vinyl, cassette, and CD versions. Although she hasn’t explicitly offered any other details yet, there are some easter eggs and alleged leaks with more info about the upcoming album… Here’s everything we know about Taylor Swift’s new album, The Life of a Showgirl, including the release date, producers, and rumored tracklist and features.

Taylor hasn’t announced the release date yet, but it’s looking like mid to late October — her website says the album copies ship before October 13. “This is not the release date, official release date to be announced,” the order confirmation email clarifies. Since artists usually release on a Friday, perhaps we’re looking at October 17 or 24 for The Life of a Showgirl? TBD.

The Life Of A Showgirl Producers

The “Karma” singer already hinted at her collaborators on this project, and shockingly, I don’t think her go-to guys, Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner, were involved at all. When she announced the new album, Taylor shared a Spotify playlist titled “And, baby, that’s show business for you,” that features 22 of her previous tracks — produced by Swedish superstar duo Max Martin and Shellback. The hits include fan favorites from 1989 and Reputation, including “Blank Space,” “I Did Something Bad,” Shake It Off,” and “Style.”

The Life Of A Showgirl Colors And Themes

Well, we already know that the colors of this era are orange and green, and I imagine the album documents her nearly two-year journey on the massive, record-breaking Eras Tour. The New Heights set behind Taylor in the preview clip might offer some more hints… There are a variety of books with orange covers that feature modernist and Neo-expressionist artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Marc Chagall and Ruth Asawa. There’s also a book about Charles and Ray Eames, a married couple of industrial designers, as well as a silver microphone and a football. Make of all that what you will!

The Life Of A Showgirl Tracklist And Features

Okay, Taylor hasn’t actually announced the tracklist yet, but there’s an alleged leak making its way around the internet. Definitely take this with a grain of salt since it could be AI. But hey, a Sabrina Carpenter collab would be exciting, so I hope it’s real.
