Welp, I don’t think anyone predicted that Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paul would be named the next bachelorette. First of all, ABC put The Bachelorette series on an indefinite hiatus earlier this year, and second of all, the lead role has always been reserved for a woman who previously appeared on The Bachelor. TFP’s making Bachelorette history as the first-ever newcomer! We really can always count on this diva to do the unexpected.
Naturally, the reality star made the shocking announcement during a Call Her Daddy appearance. She admitted to host Alex Cooper that the idea of being the bachelorette felt like a “joke” to her and something that was completely “unattainable.” And yet, here we are. During the episode, Taylor opened up about her new reality TV role as well as exes, dating, and her dream man. If you missed it, here are Taylor Frankie Paul’s Call Her Daddy revelations about The Bachelorette and her love life.

Taylor described the news as “surreal.” She explained, “It has not hit me right now in this moment. I’m just thinking about it, and it’s not real. And it’s not going to be until I think the limo is pulling up, you know? And meeting the people. So, I’m nervous.”
When asked about the process of becoming the Bachelorette, she shared, “I heard there was some talking, and then it was like, we had a meeting, and then I still didn’t believe it until I got the invitation, ‘Will you be our Bachelorette?'” Taylor said she was “shaking” and “pacing back and forth” because she couldn’t believe it.
Yes, she did have some hesitations about doing the show — being a single mom and filming The Bachelorette isn’t easy. “I’m a co-parent I have two baby daddies not one, so I’m dealing with two different people, my children, my home base is here,” she said. “Can I travel that long? Can I be gone that long?” Ultimately, Taylor was determined to make it work.
Will Taylor Frankie Paul Still Be On The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives?
Secret Lives fans don’t have to worry: Taylor will still star on that show too! She’s making time for both.

Taylor shared that she’s seeking a “hardworking” and “motivated” partner, preferably in their 30s or early 40s. A non-negotiable? They need to be willing to move to Utah. “I have two baby daddies,” she pointed out. “I’m going nowhere, so you will be moving to me in Utah, so if you like me enough, you will be moving.” Taylor’s next man doesn’t need to be Mormon, but she would prefer someone who believes in god.

They’re done “for good,” and thank the lord for that. “It’s over,” Taylor confirmed, teasing, “We’ll see that play out.” While she didn’t offer too many details (since the split will be featured on the show), she clarified that she was the one who wanted to end it.
“I did wanna end up with him,” Taylor said. “That wasn’t a secret to anybody. I’ll always admit that.” She emphasized that it was “really hard to let go” and the breakup was a “hard pill to swallow.” And no, she didn’t reach out to Dakota about going on The Bachelorette. He’s finding out with the rest of us!
Alex asked why Taylor convinced herself to stay in the relationship even though she felt like something was “off” for a while, and Taylor explained that she thought she was the problem. “I just have a lot going on,” she thought at the time. “There’s a lot of trauma here.” She’d just been through divorce and multiple miscarriages and assumed, “You’re just scared because you’ve been through so much pain.”
But now, Taylor knows to trust her intuition and refuses to feel that type of “anxiety” with a partner ever again.
