What's Next For The Regina George Of Liberals? Suzanne Lambert On Bullying Republicans And Who Belongs In Her Burn Book

Suzanne Lambert is not here to play nice. The comedian behind the viral “Republican makeup” trend has no problem leaning into the “mean girl” label — and she’s doing it with the kind of cutthroat humor that really resonates today. But Suzanne isn’t just taking cheap shots for the fun of it. She’s calling out conservative women and political figures in a way that’s as hilarious as it is biting. Case in point: Nancy Mace.

“Nancy Mace’s bitch-ass would be the politician I put in my burn book,” Suzanne tells Betches, comparing the South Carolina congresswoman to a character straight out of Mean Girls. But her criticism isn’t just about Nancy’s political views. It’s about the “very cringe act of political theater” she’s performing. “The only way that she’s able to hook people is by being wildly transphobic and just a general train wreck in scarecrow nose contour,” Suzanne adds, proving that her brand of humor is as ruthless as it is accurate.

Despite the backlash from conservatives accusing her of being mean-spirited, Suzanne is leaning all the way in. Instead of shutting up and being quiet like most would expect (and hope for) her to do,  Suzanne is doing the exact opposite, and it’s working.

Embracing The ‘Mean Girl’ Label

Suzanne isn’t just parodying conservative makeup styles, she’s reclaiming the “mean girl” label that critics love to throw at outspoken women. In fact, she likens her approach to the ending of Mean Girls, where Regina George channels her anger into something productive — lacrosse, of all things.

“My first move as coach of Team Liberal is exactly what we’re doing right now… channeling our anger and our rage and taking our opponents by surprise,” Suzanne explains. “I liken it back to the Mean Girls movie… funny enough, I actually played lacrosse… mostly use the stick to scrape ice off my windshield, but like, it’s there, nonetheless.” In other words, she’s taking the things people criticize her for — her humor, her bluntness, her willingness to call out hypocrisy — and turning them into her greatest strengths.

And if you’re wondering why she goes so hard on certain politicians — Nancy in particular — Suzanne has an answer for that, too. “I understand the need for constant attention… I put my face online, and I go on stages,” she says, pointing out the irony in Nancy’s attention-seeking antics. “I think she should just pursue theater because essentially, what she’s doing is performing.”

She even jokes that Mace is her “number one op,” lamenting that the congresswoman never responds to her jabs. “I think she’s thinking about me,” Suzanne says.

Suzanne is not content with just roasting Republicans on TikTok. She’s got big plans — and they involve a lot more than clumpy mascara and orange contour.

“My ultimate end goal is to host a late-night show where I could have funny people on and we could just, you know, talk about funny things, including politics,” she says. But she doesn’t want to be pigeonholed as just a political comedian. “I love talking about beauty, obviously, and makeup and random stupid shit, too.”

She also thinks there’s a huge gap in entertainment for women who want to engage with politics but also enjoy lighter, funnier content.

“I think we need to do a better job of that on the left,” Suzanne explains. “Being able to talk about other things alongside politics, in a way that’s entertaining, especially for women.”

And given her knack for mixing humor, beauty, and political commentary, she’s probably right. If her TikTok success is any indication, a late-night show with Suzanne at the helm would be exactly the kind of fresh, funny, and yes, “ruthless” perspective we need.
