We Must Discuss This Lauren Situationship Drama And Dave's Unhinged Reaction

You’re not gonna believe this but: Dave has unrealistic relationship expectations for women. I know, I know. Shocking to the core. Not only does the Love is Blind season 8 villain expect women to have Botox, filler, a face lift, a tummy tuck, and a butt lift (his list, not mine)… he also apparently expects them to be celibate for an unspecified long period of time before filming LIB. How dare they have a casual fling or flirt with someone less than a year before dating Dave on a reality show?! The audacity. I kid, I kid. Obviously, I’m 100 percent Team Lauren here, though I am extremely concerned about her judgment at this point. How many more glaring red flags must this man reveal for her to get out of this cursed engagement?

Thus far, Lauren has allowed Dave to get away with countless insulting remarks, and yet, he’s mad at her in episodes 7-9 because she apparently had a friends with benefits situation shortly before coming on the show. Why the fuck does he care? Beats me. Let’s break down this Love is Blind season 8 Lauren situationship drama.

Lauren Love Is Blind Situationship Explained

Who Was Lauren Dating Before Filming Love Is Blind?

We haven’t learned the identity of Lauren’s pre-LIB fling man yet, but because Minneapolis is the size of a peanut, Dave apparently has mutual friends with the dude. And those mutual friends are determined to sabotage his relationship with Lauren — they think she’s not trustworthy or ready for marriage since she was hooking up with someone before coming on the show. “How do you go from seeing someone so recently to like, I’m ready for marriage?” Dave asks during a Honduras trip confessional. “That just seems like a huge step in between, where it’s like… how did you… I don’t know. That’s tough.”

He also tells Lauren that he was questioning Molly hooking up with someone six months before filming. (Molly has shared that she’s never had a boyfriend, so clearly, that wasn’t a serious situation either.) Exactly how long must a woman refrain from having sex before dating Dave? Maybe like five years is safe.

Lauren emphasizes over and over again that this was a strictly friends with benefits situation, she didn’t really like the guy, and it was definitely never going in a serious direction. But yeah, Dave doesn’t believe her at all. He also doesn’t believe her friends, who explain to him that this was was literally nothing. “We would’ve hung out with him if they were dating,” one of Lauren’s friends tells him. Her other friend reveals she got a DM from this unidentified guy that said: “So, should we blow this wedding up or what?” Sounds like a great, super trustworthy guy. And yet, Dave’s choosing to believe that side of the story.

Dave admitted to flirting with women at bars shortly before going on the show, but he obviously sees no problem with that. By the end of episode 9, Lauren’s crying and at a loss, saying she feels “helpless” because he won’t believe her and they’re not getting anywhere.

If you ask me, Dave’s using this non-issue as a way to get out of his engagement and make it look like Lauren’s fault. Because why else would he believe this sketchy-ass man who Lauren points out he “didn’t think super highly of” over his fiancée and her best friends? We already know Dave has major commitment issues (he’s a cheater), and we see him getting kinda flirty with Molly in the teaser.

Considering he isn’t even living with Lauren at this point, I really doubt there will be any vows exchanged these two.
