Welp, Justin Baldoni Is Suing Blake Lively And Ryan Reynolds For $400 Million

The It Ends With Us drama continues… After Blake Lively accused director and costar Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment and retaliation last December, he’s now suing Blake and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for $400 million. According to Variety, the 179-page complaint was filed in the Southern District of New York on January 16, and Justin’s team is accusing Blake and Ryan of “civil extortion, defamation and invasion of privacy,” among a whole host of other claims.

Justin’s lawsuit states: “At bottom, this is not a case about celebrities sniping at each other in the press. This is a case about two of the most powerful stars in the world deploying their enormous power to steal an entire film right out of the hands of its director and production studio… When Plaintiffs have their day in court, the jury will recognize that even the most powerful celebrity cannot bend the truth to her will.”

Here’s everything we know about Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit against Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.

Basically, Justin’s alleging that Blake and Ryan took over the film and then tried to “destroy” his reputation with false sexual harassment allegations. He’s suing Blake, Ryan, their publicist, Leslie Sloane, and Sloane’s PR firm, Vision PR, Inc.

Per People, Justin and his team’s claims include: “civil extortion, defamation, false light invasion of privacy, breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, intentional interference with contractual relations, intentional interference with prospective economic advantage, and negligent interference with prospective economic advantage.”

Justin’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, said in a statement about the suit, “This lawsuit is a legal action based on an overwhelming amount of untampered evidence detailing Blake Lively and her team’s duplicitous attempt to destroy Justin Baldoni, his team and their respective companies by disseminating grossly edited, unsubstantiated, new and doctored information to the media.” He suggested that Blake was “either severely misled by her team or intentionally and knowingly misrepresented the truth.”

Bryan accused Blake and her team of attempting to “bulldoze reputations and livelihoods for heinously selfish reasons.”

This lawsuit comes shortly after Justin’s team sent a litigation hold letter to Marvel and Disney that accuses Ryan of “bullying” Justin. The letter demanded Marvel and Disney hold onto “all documents relating to or reflecting a deliberate attempt to mock, harass, ridicule, intimidate, or bully Baldoni” via Ryan’s Deadpool & Wolverine character, Nicepool. (Evidently, Justin believes Nicepool is based on him.)

Justin also filed a $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times for libel in December 2024, following their reporting on Blake’s sexual harassment and retaliation allegations.

Blake and Ryan have not publicly responded to Justin’s lawsuit against them yet.
