Love Island season 6 stars JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez have broken up after a year of dating. Although there isn’t a confirmed breakup reason yet, there are rumors and allegations that the split had to do with Kenny chasing clout and calling JaNa racist names.

Kenny and JaNa’s relationship began when they met in the villa last year, and we’re seeing more of their journey in the season 6 spinoff show, Love Island: Beyond the Villa. In the new series, we find out that he has hesitations about moving in with JaNa, and he also seems frustrated with her for not forgiving their costar, Connor Newsum. (Connor didn’t treat her very well when they were coupled up on the show, and he’s also been shady toward her in interviews.) Not to mention, Kenny doesn’t seem too thrilled about fostering a dog with JaNa.

The split report didn’t come as a total shock — fans suspected that these two might’ve broken up based on JaNa and her friends’ telling Instagram activity. So, why did JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez break up? Here’s what we know so far.

UPDATE: Jana Speaks Out On Kenny Breakup

On July 31, JaNa updated fans on her IG Stories. “Hi, I’m okay,” she said in a video. “I pinky promise… It has been an overflow of support and prayers.” She added, “I wanna close this chapter of my life. I don’t want it to take any more of my energy… If we can all agree to close this chapter, it’s draining me.”

JaNa emphasized that she “needs to move on” and “God knows what happened and that’s all that matters.” She didn’t go into detail about what happened.

In a follow-up IG Story video, the Love Island star pleaded with fans to stop harassing Kenny’s family. “”You guys, if you genuinely love me, I’m begging you: Please leave Kenny’s family alone,” she said. “That family did nothing wrong to me. They’ve been through enough. They’ve been apologizing to me. They’ve always been nice to me.”

Kenny Responds To Breakup News

Shortly after JaNa posted a message on her IG stories Kenny decided to take the same approach. Unfortunately for us he didn’t give us any actual answers. It’s giving notes app apology without the apology.

“Breakups are never easy, especially in the public eye,” he wrote. Apparently their relationship was “not something that could last long-term.”

Hmm that’s not how it sounded when Betches interviewed PPG earlier this month. “I feel like, low-key, [we’ll get married] all within the same year or two,” JaNa told Betches. Explain yourself, Kenny!

The Beyond The Villa star didn’t give us any explanations but shared he was “grateful for the time” they shared. “I release this chapter with no ill will, only a hope that JaNa’s path forward brings her nothing but happiness.” Sure, Jan.

JaNa Responds To Breakup Theories

JaNa broke her silence on her breakup from Kenny via Instagram stories on July 29. “As you know, Kenny and I are no longer together,” she wrote. “Please know that I have seen all the breakup theories and none have matched up to how terrible, disgusting and disappointing it truly is.”

She went on to say Kenny isn’t who she thought he was, and that she discovered their relationship “hasn’t been genuine since day one.” This time has been “truly devastating” and she asks for privacy during this time.

JaNa And Her Friends All Unfollowed Kenny On Instagram

According to TMZ, JaNa broke up with Kenny on Sunday morning, and JaNa’s been “leaning on her close girlfriends all day.”

The same day, fans noticed that JaNa unfollowed Kenny, and so did these fellow Love Island season 6 stars: Serena Page, Leah Kateb, Miguel Harichi, Kordell Beckham, Liv Walker, and Connor Newsum. JaNa also appears to have turned off her comments and removed all of her grid photos with Kenny. JaNa and Kenny have also removed each other from their IG bios. However, neither of the Love Island stars has made any kind of official breakup statement yet.

Oddly, JaNa and Kenny were posting cute couple photos together less than 24 hours before the breakup news broke.

During a recent interview with Variety, Kenny explained why he didn’t want to move in with JaNa yet. “Since leaving the villa, it’s a big jump moving in together with someone, and I didn’t want it to be televised, especially the first time,” he said. “So we rented rooms next to each other.” Kenny noted that he also values his privacy, adding, “When JaNa gets ready for events, she has a huge glam team. Usually, there’s somebody in there for wardrobe, and sometimes I don’t have the space to change and things like that.”
