The Kardashian/Jenner clan is no stranger to plastic surgery suspicions — and let’s be real, no stranger to plastic surgery, period. Over the years, the family has been associated with a whole buffet of potential enhancements: BBLs (since tragically reversed), lip fillers, buccal fat removal, liposuction, Botox, and of course, the classic boob job. That last one is especially relevant right now, as Kylie Jenner recently shocked TikTok, conservatives, plastic surgeons, and the group chat by revealing the exact specs of her latest boob job — and let’s be honest, this definitely isn’t her first.
“445cc, moderate profile, half under the muscle!!!!! silicone!!! garth fisher!!! hope this helps lol,” Kylie wrote in response to a fan asking for details about her gorg titties. The internet broke harder than when Kim did that photoshoot — the one you brought up in therapy just last week. Here was a celeb not denying their cosmetic work, not blaming it on SkinnyTea or a “really good bra” (with a discount code, obviously), and not implying we’re just too lazy to look like them. Turns out we’re not lazy — we’re just poor!!!
Whether Kylie dropped that comment on a whim or as part of a bigger PR move, she’s not the only one. More and more celebs are pulling back the curtain on their touch-ups, and honestly? It might be the best thing to happen to the body positivity movement in a while.
Kylie Jenner Is A Girl’s Girl
Kylie previously denied boob job rumors, once claiming she’d only ever had lip filler. That all changed with a few exclamation-mark-laden words on Instagram. There wasn’t a lengthy Notes app apology or half-hearted denial — just a casually dropped list of implant specs, like it was her Starbucks order.
Now, the internet is divided on whether this makes her a girl’s girl. I’ll be real: I would’ve been a lot more impressed with this transparency a few years ago when it would’ve been genuinely controversial. Plastic surgery is a lot more normalized now, TBH. But then again, there’s a reason we were all still surprised.
Do celebs owe us their enhancement history or a full surgical menu like Kylie gave? No. I do respect their privacy. But if they’re promoting products related to the look, yeah, it’s relevant. Like when Kylie pretended lip kits did the job, not filler. Or when all the Kardashians tried to convince us it was laxative teas giving them those scalpel-touched bodies. If Kylie ever wants to promote lingerie or cleavage-baring tops, go off—but now we know no fabric alone gave her those perfect melons.
It reminds me of Ari Kytsa, an OF and TikTok star who openly shares all of the work she’s had done AND her makeup routine to avoid people assuming a contour stick or a couple of crunches got her there. She acknowledges that other people won’t look like her unless they also spend thousands of dollars, and that provides informed consent for digesting her content.
Honestly, it’s peak girl’s girl to be like, “Oh, you like? Here’s how I did it.” It’s the club bathroom energy of giving someone your lipstick shade or eyebrow tech’s number, and we love to see it.
Does Transparency Encourage Copycats?
In her post, Kylie name-dropped Dr. Garth Fisher, whose Beverly Hills office has reportedly been slammed with calls since — so much so that he had to remind the internet about patient confidentiality.
Still, let’s not forget: Kylie’s comment was in response to someone already considering surgery. She didn’t say, “Go get it!”—she just said, “Here’s how I got this look.” Yes, to some people, those are functionally the same. But the reality is that people are already thinking about surgery. You cannot exist in this media landscape and not — at least briefly — wonder what it’d be like to “fix” something. And if someone does end up under the knife, it’s not because one celeb name-dropped a surgeon. It’s because they hit a tipping point where dissatisfaction outweighed the cost or risk.
Honestly, the argument for hiding plastic surgery reminds me of those wild protests against sex ed in schools — like if you never mention it, kids will never think about it. Meanwhile, most kids see porn before they get braces. Talking about sex openly reduces STDs, assaults, and unplanned pregnancies.
I know it seems like a tangent, but hear me out: staying silent about plastic surgery raises a generation of people who feel broken by comparison. I know because I was one of them. I couldn’t understand how women online were magically thin when I needed an eating disorder to get there. And when I did? I still resented myself for losing all cleavage in the process while they had both. Now, when I look in the mirror and clock a dozen things I’d change — my double chin, my bumpy nose — I no longer assume everyone else was born perfect. I understand that their “perfection” comes with a scalpel and a syringe. Even if I never make those changes, I don’t feel like I’m failing for not looking like them.
It also reduces shame for the people who do decide to change things. We love to blame individuals for reinforcing beauty standards, but honestly? That blame belongs to the systems that taught us to value perfection in the first place. Instead of getting mad at Rebecca from HR for her lip filler or your cousin Candace for her nose job, aim that rage at the billion-dollar industry that profits off your insecurity. If you’re gonna be mad at people who get plastic surgery, be mad at those who conform to diets, waist trainers, hair dye, Spanx, makeup, and the rest of it. Or — and hear me out — maybe just let adults make their own fucking choices without the need for deception.
Celebs And Influencers Who Opened Up About Plastic Surgery
Alix Earle
After finding success with Kylie Jenner, another TikToker decided to shoot her shot with Alix Earle by asking the same question: “What did you ask for when you got your boobs done?” Alix responded, “275cc in one 295 cc in another 💗 saline under the muscle – dr Hidalgo nyc (kind of wish I did silicone though) went through armpit for incision ILY.”
Kristin Cavallari
“I was 300 cc before and now I’m 340. Everyone thinks I went a lot bigger but I’ve just pushed them up a couple times since getting them done,” Kristin shared in an Instagram Q&A.
Nicole Martin
Real Housewife Of Miami Nicole Martin, MD, got her breast augmentation done in Miami by Sientra under the care of Dr. Jaime Flores. “Had my augmentation done 2016 with 440cc [high profile] implants placed under the muscle,” Dr. Martin wrote in an Insta caption to the tune of Sabrina Carpenter’s new single Manchild. “Plastic surgery isn’t for everyone, it’s a personal choice. I haven’t had issues with my implants and am sharing the details for information purposes only.”
Ariana Grande
During the Wicked press tour, Ariana said, “I’ve had fillers in various places and Botox, but I stopped like four years ago… and that is the extent. But also [I am] in full support of all people who do these things. Work! Whatever makes women, men, and non-gender-confirming people feel beautiful should be allowed. Why do we care?”
Selena Gomez
After a TikTok showed her teen vs. adult face, she clapped back: “Honestly, I hate this. I was on stripes because of flare-up. I have Botox. That’s it. Leave me alone.” (Most assume “stripes” was autocorrect for “steroids” as a lupus treatment.) She’s also joked about Botox at the 2022 SAG Awards and commented in 2023: “Hahahaha I’ve had Botox bb girl.”
Ariana Madix
When someone speculated what she’d had done, she straight-up listed it: “tox in 11’s, outer brow, and my neck. ellevate for my neck in 2019 by @theneckdoctor. minimal lip filler… and filler in my chin. absolutely no filler anywhere else and def no bleph yet ❤️❤️ hope this helps!”
Megan Fox
“My boobs have been fake since I was… 21? Or 22? I got them done in between Transformers 1 and 2,” Megan said on Call Her Daddy. She denied any liposuction or facelifts but confirmed three breast augmentations (with “1990s stripper” cup sizing), one rhinoplasty, and one mystery procedure. “It’s like shaming people for coloring their hair or wearing gel nails. Where does that logic stop?”
Kris Jenner
The original momager isn’t shy about surgery — she famously got a facelift on KUWTK in 2011 before Kim’s second wedding and just debuted a new face in Paris along with her surgeon’s name.
NeNe Leakes
In 2010, Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes told People about getting liposuction, a nose job, and breast implants. “I still wanted to look like NeNe — the Black woman that I am — but a better version,” she said.
Kaley Cuoco
In a 2016 interview with Women’s Health, Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco called her breast augmentation “the best thing I ever did.” She also opened up about getting a nose job and a round of fillers. “As much as you want to love your inner self, I’m sorry, you also want to look good,” she said. “I don’t think you should do it for a man or anyone else, but if it makes you feel confident, that’s amazing.”
