We all learned an extremely important lesson last week: Don’t get caught on a kiss cam with a woman who’s not your wife, in front of a 65,0000-person crowd and the entire internet.
Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was allegedly caught in that unfortunate (karmic?) situation at a July 16 Coldplay show at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts. The jumbotron just so happened to target him and his Astronomer coworker, HR Chief Kristin Cabot. And, well, those two were looking very cozy before they swiftly broke apart and tried to hide themselves as if the kiss cam was a weapon of war. Kristin’s relationship status is unclear, but I fear Andy is reportedly married with two children.
Naturally, a TikTok capturing the ~intriguing~ moment now has more than 50 million views since it was posted on Wednesday. (Thank you for your journalism, @instaagraace.) And the memes about the kiss cam video? Last week was a beautiful time to be on the internet. I hadn’t felt so alive since the Olympic swimmer muffin man.
That super viral clip seems to be impacting Andy’s career. Did Astronomer CEO Andy Bryon resign after the Coldplay kiss cam incident? Here’s an update about his position in the company.

Astronomer CEO Andy Bryon Resigned After Coldplay Kiss Cam Controversy
On July 19, Astronomer shared a statement announcing that Andy Byron has stepped down after his viral moment on the kiss cam with Kristin. “Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted,” the statement reads. “The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO.” While he wasn’t fired, I imagine there was a lot of pressure to resign.
The statement continued, “Before this week, we were known as a pioneer in the DataOps space, helping data teams power everything from modern analytics to production AI. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.”
Andy’s already been removed from the company’s leadership page, but he’s still listed as a member of the board of directors. Kristin is still listed as the Chief People Officer for now.
Is Astronomer CEO Andy Byron Having An Affair With HR Chief Kristin Cabot?
Mid-show, Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin was having fun with the kiss cam. As the camera panned over the audience, it eventually settled on Andy, whose arms were wrapped around Kristin, who is again his company’s Chief People Officer, not his wife. The moment Andy and Kristin realized they were victims of the jumbotron, Andy dropped to the ground, and Kristin turned around and hid her face. Chris was baffled. “Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy,” he joked as the audience laughed. “I’m not quite sure what to do.”
Astronomer is a start-up that sells data operations software, but alas, the company’s only gonna be associated with this iconic moment from now on.
While we don’t know enough details about the situation to label it an “affair,” Megan is definitely not Andy’s wife, and the CEO and his coworker definitely looked hella guilty immediately ducking out of the camera’s view. Despite the fake posts that have been going around, no, Andy and Kristin have not shared a response statement yet. I imagine that will be coming soon. What I would give to work at Astronomer right now.
Has Astronomer CEO Andy Byron’s Wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, Responded?
Andy is reportedly married to Megan Kerrigan Bryon. While Megan hasn’t shared any kind of official response, some internet sleuths have noticed that her Facebook account currently has the name “Megan Kerrigan” rather than “Megan Kerrigan Byron.” (It’s unclear if this was updated following the viral video.)
