Um, Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen might be on again?? SMH. I really didn’t need this unsettling news today. If you have taste, you were severely addicted to Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and therefore know all about Taylor and Dakota’s disastrous romance and breakup. They started dating in 2022, not too long after Taylor’s ~soft-swinging~ scandal, and they dealt with commitment issues, cheating allegations, and even a physical altercation that led to Taylor getting arrested. And yet, somehow, based on Taylor’s recent social media hints, romance might be in the air again for the Mormon reality stars and parents of Ever True (yup, that’s their kid’s real name). So, are Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen actually back together now? Here’s what we know so far.

On October 20, Taylor decided to give us all panic attacks by posting an Instagram Story featuring a photo of her and Dakota looking couple-y at a gun range. In the photo, he has one hand on her back and one hand on her arm to help her aim. Ugggghhh. As if that wasn’t enough of a getting back together soft launch, Taylor re-shared a quote the next day that reads: “Due to personal reasons, I’ll be back with the same man I said I’m done with.” But… why, Taylor? Although she later deleted that Insta Story, she kept the chaos going on TikTok, naturally.
The MomTok queen posted a video with the text “she is such an unstable back and forth mess” and captioned it, “Unless you’re living the same exact life, I don’t expect anyone to understand.” I respectfully feel like we understand enough to completely disapprove, but I hope girly’s okay. Dakota just had to be messy and repost Taylor’s video on his own TikTok. I can’t.
When Did Taylor And Dakota Break Up?
Taylor and Dakota broke up in late September, and Taylor communicated that to us with a series of cryptic social media posts. On September 22, she shared a photo of her and Ever True in an Instagram Story and wrote, “Here’s to a new chapter of my life, I think be the most challenging, yet most rewarding.” Taylor also posted a TikTok of herself dancing in sweatpants and crying, and some of her costars left loving, encouraging comments.
Their split came after countless relationship issues that we saw play out on the show. Dakota clearly wanted to marry Taylor, but she wasn’t ready for that at all. Not to mention, season 1 ended with Mayci calling a woman named Jenna to investigate whether or not Dakota cheated on Taylor with her. Taylor did confront him about the cheating rumor, but we didn’t get all that tea yet. And most notably, in February 2023, Taylor was arrested for domestic violence after a physical fight with Dakota. She was charged with aggravated assault and two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child.
Unfortunately, I’ll never be at all convinced these two are soulmates, and now I’m extremely scared to watch season 2.
