Anna met Scrubs actor Michael Mosley on a night out in New York City when she was 21. They tied the knot in 2010 and got divorced three years later. During a May 2025 appearance on the Podcrushed podcast, the actress described their relationship as a “one-night stand that lasted seven years.” Despite that ~not exactly glowing~ review, she said they’re “still pretty close” today.
“To have it just not be working at all and having us be totally different people, that was really, really, really hard,” Anna shared about the end of their relationship. “And that was definitely a heartbreak of mine.” She added that Michael’s “great.”
After Michael, she fell for her Pitch Perfect costar, Skylar Astin. They were first linked in 2013 and dated throughout the iconic film series. In 2019, they announced their split in a joint statement: “We can confirm that we have decided to separate, and this decision was made mutually and amicably. We kindly ask for privacy as we navigate this transition.” They filed for divorce a few months later.
Anna seemed optimistic about life after her second divorce when she spoke to Entertainment Tonight in 2019. “I feel kinda free for the first time in a very long time, for lots of reasons,” she said at the time. “I feel very excited and very grounded at the same time, which is great. About a year after Anna and Skylar broke up, she announced a new relationship with drummer Michael Johnson via an Instagram hard launch. She posted a photo of them in the desert, writing, “In the middle of nowhere with no one I’d rather be with 💫.”
They quarantined together throughout the COVID pandemic, and Anna was grateful for his company. “He’s an amazing cook,” she told ET in 2020. “I am very lucky to have found someone and thankful that we’re doing well amidst all of this insanity that’s going on in the world right now.”
