As a girlie unable to be alone with her own thoughts, I wrack up an impressive Netflix Wrapped each year. Top of the bill is reality TV, and especially dating shows. Don’t ask about my own love life. I dip my toe into every show available, including Love is Blind, Too Hot to Handle, and Perfect Match. But my absolute favorite, time after time, is The Ultimatum. It truly is the most toxic dating show out there, and I eat it up every single time. Shockingly, it also has one of the highest success rates of dating shows (make it make sense). To prove this, here’s what happened to all the couples on The Ultimatum. Which couples got married? Which couples moved on? And which couples played swapsies?
Which The Ultimatum season 1 couples are still together?
Madlyn and Colby
View this post on Instagram
Let’s get the biggest shocker immediately out of the way. Madlyn and Colby are still together.
The pair came on the show when Colby issued an ultimatum to Madlyn. She went into a trial marriage with Randall and really hit it off, to the extent that many thought they might end up leaving together. Meanwhile, Colby was in a very platonic trial marriage with April, both of whom mainly just whined about their exes.
At the end of the period, Colby got down on one knee and proposed to Madelyn. Surprisingly, she said yes. Even more surprisingly, they got married on the spot!! At the reunion, the couple shocked fellow contestants and viewers by revealing that Madelyn was pregnant. In return, they were gifted a silver sippy cup — low key, can I have one? The pair welcomed their daughter, Josephine Riley, in May 2022. Then, in September 202,4 they announced the birth of their son, Conrad Lloyd Kissinger.
Shanique and Randall
During the show, Shanique issued an ultimatum to Randall, wanting clarity about their future. Both participated in trial marriages with other cast members—Shanique with Zay and Randall with Madlyn. Shanique and Zay had a mutual attraction, and she taught him some communication and emotional skills. But when Shanique sided with Rae on some issues, Zay lost his shit.
IDK what happened in Randall and Madelyn’s trial marriage but it clearly worked. Season 1 ended with Randall proposing to Shanique. He had mentioned seeing a future with Madelyn but still remained committed to working on his relationship with Shanique. After filming ended, the couple decided to call off the engagement and just live together. Clearly, it worked, as in July 2023, Randall got down on one knee again, and they got engaged (for real this time).
Rae and Zay
You know it won’t work when your couple name is legit one of your names. Rae issued the ultimatum after two and a half years together, wanting to move toward marriage, but Zay expressed doubts about their readiness, namely their financial instability and communication struggles.
Zay was not expecting Rae to get on SO WELL with her trial hubby, Jake. He also got on with his wifey, Shanique, but not to the same extent. As a result, Zay and Rae were even more turbulent when they reunited for their trial period. They had a huge blow-up when Zay stayed out all night without communicating at all — yeah, those communication issues. This led to an intense argument that turned physical, which both later expressed regret about. In the finale, Rae ended the relationship, and she and Jake decided to give things a go! He got them tickets to go travel together like they’d discussed.
Obviously, the trip never happened, lol. Rae and Jake quickly broke up. During the reunion, Rae shared that she’s been focusing on herself and figuring out her sexuality. “I was very uncomfortable with being bi for a very long time. But since Zay and I have been done, I’ve just been with one girl and that’s been kind of great, honestly,” she explained. It was revealed that Zay and Rae briefly had a go of things after filming. It didn’t go well, and let’s just say that he kissed and shared on the show… yikes. Zay later appeared on Perfect Match, but that did not go well at all either. Lol. Sorry.
April and Jake
Before Jake was with Rae, he was with his original girlfriend, April. These two were clearly not gonna work, and I don’t even blame either of them. April wanted commitment, marriage, and children, while Jake, a former Marine, was hesitant due to his desire to explore life further. April was young enough to make me feel OLD (not sharing my age, nice try), but she felt like she had to have kids RIGHT FUCKING NOW. She also did have some reproductive issues at play. So April said marry me or piss off mate.
April wasn’t pleased by Rae and Jake’s romantic connection. Jake felt like he was more aligned with Rae, and they wanted the same things. Meanwhile, April really did the work on herself in her friendship match with Colby, and we all felt for her. A particularly memorable moment was when April found a video of Rae twerking at a club on Jake’s phone. April reenacted this when calling him out, and I almost peed myself laughing (sorry, girlie).
Obviously at the end of it, Jake didn’t propose. But April shared at the reunion that she was dating an older man. She’s now wedded and has two gorgeous kiddos!!! She is totally giving momfluencer on Instagram, and I’m so happy for her. A sneaky look at Jake’s Insta suggests he uses too many filters and has found a new girlfriend! Let’s hope it works out for them.
Alexis and Hunter
Who??? Don’t worry, bestie; you’re not suffering from memory loss just yet. Alexis had given Hunter the ultimatum, although she clearly was surprised to discover she didn’t have as many options as she expected in the group. The pair decided to drop out at the deciding dinner, as they realized they didn’t want to do a trial marriage with anyone else. Yah, April was meant to be teamed up with Hunter and was NOT impressed. They got married on June 18, 2022. The pair have been openly sharing their highs and lows with IVF, undoubtedly inspiring other couples.
Lauren and Nathan
Another case of “Wait, who?” but once again, these two departed during the dinner. Nathan had given Lauren the ultimatum, as he wanted to get married and have kids, but girlie wasn’t so sure. Nathan suddenly got down on one knee and proposed, and the cast was SHOCKED when she said yes. They got married on October 1, 2022, and Lauren is unrecognizable with blonde hair. The pair welcomed a baby boy on June 15, 2024.
Which The Ultimatum season 2 couples are still together?
Roxanne and Antonio
View this post on Instagram
I can’t fully explain how, but these two are the Madlyn and Colby of season 2, and not just because he was the one to issue the ultimatum. Antonio wanted clarity on their future, while Roxanne was skeptical about marriage.
Roxanne partnered with Alex, who had been issued an ultimatum to his partner, Kat. The two connected over their shared ambition and career focus, but their dynamic lacked romantic chemistry. She also found him very controlling with Kat.
In a true swapsies, Antonio partnered with Alex’s original partner, Kat. They were amicable together, and it mainly consisted of Antonio complaining about Roxanne not committing. Kat was very calming and basically did typical female labor. At the show’s end, Antonio proposed to Roxanne, and after some hesitation, she accepted.
During the reunion, Roxanne revealed she had removed her engagement ring shortly after the proposal and still struggled with the idea of marriage. Antonio was still a keen bean but admitted he didn’t love her lack of enthusiasm. But against all odds, the pair tied the knot this October in Georgia!!
Kat and Alex
The other side of this odd foursome! Kat issued Alex an ultimatum because she was ready to move forward, while Alex felt they needed more time to align their goals. They swapped partners and realized just how good they had it together.
Alex claimed that the time allowed him to realize that Kat challenged him in subtle but significant ways, and he proposed to her in the finale. The pair tied the knot in May, and she’s still posting photos from it, so shit must be going well.
Riah and Trey

So Trey came from a happy family (apparently those exist) and gave Riah the ultimatum. He wanted a marriage like his mommy and daddy (apparently those can stay together and love each other). Riah was less sure, as she felt Trey wasn’t meeting her expectations for quality time and was influenced by social media pressures. Riah still hoped to move to a big city and attend school, contributing to her uncertainty.
Trey partnered with Ryann, a fellow ultimatum giver, and they developed feelings for each other. In another swapsies, Riah was paired with Ryann’s partner, James, but their connection remained platonic, as James was still attached to Ryann. Once reunited, Riah struggled with how close Trey and Ryann had become.
At the end of it all, Trey proposed, and Riah accepted it. At the reunion, they shared that she was preggo!! They’ve since welcomed a baby boy, and they have a destination wedding planned for early 2025.
Ryann and James

High school sweethearts alert! Ryann and James met at just 16 years old and had been together for seven years when they joined the cast. Former prom queen Ryann issued the ultimatum because she felt James should be more certain of their future, especially after seven whole years wowza.
As mentioned, Ryann paired up with Trey, and the two hit it off. Trey made Ryann feel valued and appreciated, which contrasted with the complacency she felt in her relationship with James. Meanwhile James was just friends with Riah, but it clearly did him good, as in the finale, he proposed to Ryann.
At the reunion, the pair shared that they were still going strong and that James had re-proposed privately for a more intimate experience. The pair tied the knot in late 2023, and welcomed a little girlie a few months ago! Her name is Sunny, and she makes my ovaries scream.
Lisa and Brian

Another case of “Wait, who??” Well, this is a fun one! Lisa and Brian were friends with benefits that turned into more, and Lisa wanted a ring on her finger. So the pair turned up and went on their dates. At a group mixer, Lisa lost her shit at Brian when he was showing interest in Riah. They had a heated argument, she smacked him, and they left the show.
Did they break up? Nah! Lisa found out she was PREGGERS, so they left the show. They welcomed their baby last year, a healthy bouncing boy. Back in May 2024, Brian proposed to Lisa (finally). It was a massive, filmed affair, and you can watch all three hours of it on his Instagram.
Which The Ultimatum season 3 couples are still together?
Zaina and J.R.
The pair met on an app almost three years ago, and Zaina brought them here with an ultimatum. J.R. has one divorce under his belt and isn’t looking for a second. He was QUICK to cozy up to other contestants and ended up struggling to choose between Aria and Sandy. His choosing Sandy very much gave sexual chemistry over all else, but pop off. He is super keen on Sandy, wanting her to wear his shirts and nothing else — barf. If they’re not touching privates, I will be shocked. I can’t get over when he sprayed his ass before heading to the group mixer.
Zaina partnered with Scotty (I’ll get to him, don’t worry), and again, it’s all a lil too keen. She seems a bit naive about how well J.R. and Sandy will get on, so yeah, surprises ahead.
Sandy and Nick
We love an age gap couple (10 years), but not this one!! Nick is a total artist and wants to run away to a cabin. Sandy is a party girlie with no intention of settling down. They’ve been together for two and a half years, and Nick wants to seal the deal.
As mentioned, Sandy partnered with J.R. and kinda seemed to see this experience as a ‘free pass’ (prove me wrong, girlie!!). Nick paired up with Vanessa as they both are so silly goofy. He was a lil shocked to discover Sandy and J.R. had kissed on the first night already (allegedly that’s all they did). But when Vanessa and her partner departed early, Nick was left solo for the duration of the trial marriage. Yikes, imagine knowing Sandy is smooching J.R., and you’re alone in a double bed. But yeah, Nick is going way off the rails right now and screaming into pillows — aka me after any minor inconvenience in life.
Mariah and Caleb
Okay, less age gap now as Mariah is 24 and Caleb is 29, but girlie feels the RUSH. She wants a ring, and she wants it now. “I want to experience as much of the love as I possibly can fit into my lifetime,” she claimed. “I would love forever to start right now.” Caleb is less rushed, like any 29-year-old man.
Mariah partnered with Micah, until he suddenly packed up and left while she was out without even a note. He even took the book he lent her. TALK ABOUT GHOSTING YIKES. Meanwhile, Caleb chose sweet, soft-spoken Aria as his trial spouse. They played Jenga and added a bunch of metaphors to the game. They also discuss things like open relationships, parents’ divorces, and communication styles. The pair played Chubby Bunnies and it was both disgusting and adorable.
Shoutout to how highly Caleb speaks of Mariah’s emotional maturity and growth. And Mariah’s commitment to see this experience through on her own is impressive.
Aria and Scotty
HOLD ME BACK! HOLD ME BACK!! IF I GET MY HANDS ON THIS MAN-
Somehow, Scotty is the one who gave Aria the ultimatum. They’ve been together for three years and he thinks she should compromise more. But Aria isn’t sure she wants to move to his city, give up her job, and so forth. Despite being so keen on Aria (allegedly), Scotty is only too happy to jump into a trial marriage with Zaina. He’s holding her hand and putting his arm around her BEFORE THEY’RE EVEN PAIRED. And when Aria [rightly] calls this out, the man gaslights the hell out of her.
Zaina experiences gaslighting from Scotty, such as when she doesn’t want to do a hot air balloon or cryotherapy. Then he asks her what “32-year-old fun” looks like. Don’t bring her age into this. He then says he got so much validation as a kid, so he can’t handle rejection… WOW.
As mentioned, Aria partners with Caleb. They’re cute together, and there are some sweet euphemisms about sharing a spoon. The best moment was their lil home spa sesh. It’s promising, but I bet Aria is gonna go for Scotty in the end, it’s a canon event.
Chanel and Micah
Okay, now for those who departed!
We shouldn’t have been surprised that these two left early, given how little was shown of Micah. Until the dinner, I didn’t know who he was. Chanel was gorgeous and sweet but also got limited air time.
No explanation of why they left, but they’ve confirmed they’re still going strong. Chanel and Micah uploaded a joint post to Instagram that featured a series of cute pics of them holding hands and posing together. Supposedly, they’ll be at the reunion to explain more.
Vanessa and Dave
No sir, no!!!! I initially struggled to differentiate between Dave and Nick, but then I understood that Dave was the less favorable one. Once Vanessa admitted that Dave didn’t let her partake in bodybuilding competitions, I was fuming. I was furious!!! Let girlie lift her weights and drink her shakes!! The pair left early, apparently due to mental health reasons. Also sorry, but Dave turning away the camera in that footage was too funny. Since Aria also left, Dave wasn’t leaving anyone behind like Vanessa with Nick.
Why did he leave? Dave uploaded an Instagram post that included his cast photo on one slide and the same photo on a second slide covered in flames. “How it looked on @ultimatumnetflix vs. how it felt. Season 3 out now,” he captioned the post with a grimacing face emoji and flame.
Vanessa more subtly responded to a comment with, “Aw I know I just had to do what was best for my mental health.” The same user responded and said Vanessa owed Nick an apology for how she left. Vanessa commented, “You don’t know what happened behind scenes I have nothing to apologize for.” WHAT WENT DOWN?
