Though I don’t want to accept it, the sixth season of Love Island USA has come to a dramatic end, which means we have to say goodbye to all of our favorite heroes and villains. Or do we? Right after I saw the news that Nick Viall was dropping a surprise interview that I can only assume is 1.5 hours of Kaylor crying into a microphone, I was hit by the exhilarating revelation that my favorite middle child Rob Rausch would be hitting the pavement the very same day on Alex Cooper’s gossip corner, Call Her Daddy. Is Call Her Daddy the new 60 minutes or something? Whatever happened to Dianne Sawyer? All of Alex’s recent guests from mom-to-be Gypsy Rose to Amanda Knox would imply yes. Anyway, I digress. Without a moment’s hesitation or letting my pesky inbox full of unanswered work emails stop me, I dove into Rob’s CHD interview to take studious notes that I could report back to all of my fellow snake lovers (there are at least five of us) and Rob haters alike. I’ve graciously unpacked the most dramatic moments from Rob’s Call Her Daddy episode below.
Are Rob and Leah back together?
Rob makes it crystal clear, that despite all of your glorious fan edits, he’s completely “content” with remaining friends with “lovely”, “funny as fuck” Leah. During Love Island, he never stopped liking Leah just because Andrea arrived, but after things got so complicated and dramatic he insists it’s now best that they leave good enough alone instead of choosing the “uphill battle” Kaylor and Aaron are in for given their baggage from The Villa. Plus, he’s rooting for Leah’s new couple, since he considers himself “pretty similar” to Miguel in a lot of ways (lol). Rob also gave a lot of behind-the-scenes tea about his state of mind and the inner workings of the show which impacted why he and Leah fell apart in the first place.
Once he started crying about the love triangle he admits he alone created, he “kind of had a panic attack” hence diving under the pool deck to avoid the cameras. When Alex repeated the historically inaccurate party line that Rob said he wasn’t sexually attracted to Leah, Rob corrected that he felt they hadn’t clicked sexually yet, because it felt like Leah was holding back. Leah apparently confirmed on camera that she was holding back because of a comment Rob jokingly made before their first kiss (“be gentle”). We, of course, never saw this. Rob got wrapped up in the Love Island whirlwind, so the weight of the decision between two girls he cared about felt like a million pounds, only made worse by the fact that he wasn’t able to talk to Leah to give her another heads up before the recoupling (which Alex Cooper infers means the producers kept them apart, but Rob says he’s not allowed to confirm). So it basically seems like Love Island made Rob feel a lot of Big Feelings he didn’t have the tools to work through in time before Leah got the ick. He acknowledges his biggest flaw in relationships is “letting someone in” and communicating and processing his feelings. I hope the producers gave this man his diary back.
Is Rob Rausch single?
As of now and for the foreseeable future, yes. Rob says he is sticking to snakes, the woods, and avoiding all of the DMs piling up his phone for a long while before he considers a new romance. Taking Ariana to The Hideaway (or perhaps a library, since that’s somewhere Rob admits to getting frisky in the past) is still on his wish list, however. Yeah, bro, get in line.
Did Leah vote to dump Andrea from Love Island?
Rob still doesn’t have finite clarity on what exactly happened in that private huddle the girls had when choosing who to dump between JaNa, Nicole, and Andrea but he was more concerned with Leah lying about it than if she actually took a B word (backseat). He could sense Leah was bullshitting him in their initial convo after Andrea was sent home (after which he says everyone in The Villa, producers included, begged him to stay until he calmed down because he was deadset on quitting) so he was asking Liv and Kaylor to find out if he could trust Leah, not to blame her for Andrea being gone. Kind of seems like one and the same ATP, but either way, all hell broke loose when Liv doubled down on Leah’s story being false, which Rob regretted deeply. Rob still doesn’t know for sure what was said, but from what he’s heard, if the conversation were to finally air, it would not vindicate Leah. Love Island Producers, I love you dearly, but you need to drop that footage at the reunion OR ELSE (I’ll be sad).
What is Rob Rausch’s job?
Rob is still focusing on his snake wrangler and wilderness career, but he would be open to the right future reality TV opportunities such as Survivor. Someone get Probst on the phone.
Are Andrea and Rob back together?
In a maybe not-so-surprising twist, Rob is not back with Andrea now that they’re both home from Fiji. According to Rob, he texted Andrea when he got his phone back, but after he saw the content Andrea was consistently posting about her experience and the other girls on TikTok (much of which is now deleted), he essentially got the ick. Poor girl. At least he still thinks you’re the best kisser?
Rob confirms Aaron asked him to bring Daniela back from Casa
Alex made sure to cover one of the biggest theories that came out of the massive mess Aaron made in Casa Amor. It was confusing AF when Rob took an interest in Daniela out of the blue — until now. Rob shared that Aaaron did, in fact, pull him to the side to sing Daniela’s praises and tell Rob that Rob and Daniela would really get along if he brought her back to the main villa. Rob clarified that about ten minutes later Aaron decided that was actually a horrible idea, but if Rob was feeling her he should anyway, and since Rob didn’t want to come back single he went for it. Will this bit of damning information change anything for Kaylor? Seems unlikely.
