When I first heard the phrase “Baby Gronk” my first thought was that Rob Gronkowski had welcomed a (hypothetically huge) newborn child I wasn’t aware of. But, as it turns out, the only pregnancy receiving congratulations in the Patriots family these days belongs to everyone’s favorite supermodel/WAG. After a little research, I found that Baby Gronk is a social media superstar whose only relevance to the NFL star is that everyone including his stage dad believes he has the chops to go pro one day. Baby Gronk is a pre-teen from Texas who has built a social media following for his skills as an upcoming football prodigy. The path to pro football starts young (especially in states like Texas), and according to the stats Baby Gronk has shared on Instagram (where he has over 500K followers), Madden is well on his way to being recruited by a D1 team for college. Baby Gronk’s father has expressed to the media how he intends to make his child famous now so that Baby Gronk can enjoy a thriving career before he even breaks high school. Jake San Miguel believes that TikTok athletes, like Livvy Dunne, have shown it’s an option to make a living without going pro thanks to internet fame. In June of 2023, Baby Gronk went on a very early college visit to Louisiana State University where he met “mutual friend” Olivia Dunne (aka, Livvy Dunne, as she goes by on TikTok.) She posted a video of herself meeting Baby Gronk, so naturally TikTok turned their link up into a meme about the college gymnast “rizzing up” the “Football Celebrity” (which is, of course, a complete joke). Or maybe it was the 12-year-old who rizzed up his fellow social media star?! IDK, my elderly brain can only take so much!!!
