If you had told me years ago that I would enjoy a season of Love Island USA more than the UK version, I would have cackled you out of Casa Amor. But the unthinkable happened: These Americans managed to beat the Brits… again, and without Hamilton’s catchy tunes. What a season of drama, outrage, miscommunication, handshakes, and more. We had villains, heroes, and JUST PLAIN MEN. Since the winners and runners-up are scurrying off to do Call Her Daddy interviews, I thought I’d take a moment to check in on where they all currently stand. Let’s start things off with our winners! This fan-favorite couple won over America’s hearts quicker than that apple BRAT dance on Tiktok!! The pair bonded over their Texan roots, although Serena has since moved to California. Her interest DEFINITELY WASN’T INFLUENCED by Kordell’s big bro, Odell, an NFL wide receiver previously linked to Kim Kardashian. Just kidding!!! But can he introduce us to North West?
Serena described her type as a short king with a sense of humor, and Kordell ticked that box. Things hit it off from the start, but the connection grew slowly, with the pair only ending up together on a technicality at first. I mean, they were in matching green outfits?? But Serena first tried her luck with Coye, and then settled for Kordell. He moved past this rejection, only to have a sneaky kiss with Daia in Casa Amor, before deciding to go all-aboard Serena.
So what will they be doing with that $100k cash prize?
“I’m gonna be investing and putting it towards the business and my career,” Kordell, 22, told Us Weekly, mentioning that he wants to get into acting. “But as far as spending, I’m not gonna spend it on anything unless she wants a little something. [Serena] might get a little something.”
Umm, that’s…practical. Like, I’d probably buy a Stanley Cup in every shade possible to match my outfits and a fuckton of Le Creuset pots on the off-chance I ever cook, let alone host, but you do you!!!
As for Serena, she’ll be saving her half (these people are 22 and 27, why are they so grown up??), but she first has to pay $4,000 to her costar, JaNa, as she bet that JaNa would win with Kenny.
“I’m gonna hook my girl up,” Serena told Us. “I thought she was gonna win simply because I was just very unsure about how America was feeling about me and Kordell, because we haven’t had the easiest journey. Past [Love Island] winners, they may not have gone through everything we’ve gone through. It has been a lot — a little dramatic, a little crazy. I’m like, who knows? They’re either gonna love it or hate it, and I was just like, ‘Maybe they hate that s–t. I don’t know. I know some people did, but it is fine because the majority don’t.”
What now for the winners of season six of Love Island? The pair are yet to officially become boyfriend and girlfriend, which is fine since we’re not in seventh grade, but also… what are you waiting for? It’s not a wedding ring, just a question! Like they won a show called LOVE Island but won’t’ be official? Gurl.

She’s since returned to Sacramento while Kendall headed back to Dallas, although Nicole seems keen to move there as her family lives there as well. A day one boy and a day six bombshell, Nicole and Kendall were strong throughout the season. They were one of the few couples to survive Casa Amor unscathed. What about that awkward moment in the finale when Kendall said, “I love you,” and she hesitated? Apparently, there are no hard feelings, which is fab, and I totally wouldn’t have skipped the country and started a new life for myself in Australia, totally!! (g’day mate)
But what about once they left paradise, aka the villa, and re-entered society? Well, it seems that things got a little tougher for them, especially as people have been doubting their connection. Kendall’s comments on a recent episode of the infamous The Viall Files podcast haven’t helped the matter.
When asked about the odds he would still be with Jacky during the reunion special on August 19, he couldn’t make any promises, and said, “It’s not 100, I’d say, because there’s no guarantees on what will happen. I don’t know the future. I don’t know what’s going to happen in a week or a day. It will be a lie if I said 100 percent chance because I just don’t know. But I believe that when we have those conversations, it can go well.”
Could you be any less enthusiastic? I know he’s not a mind reader, but you can’t look three weeks ahead with your partner? How are you going to RSVP to weddings or get Era’s Tour tickets together??? Can you reserve a restaurant for Saturday night or is that too much pressure too?

Miguel was one of the biggest bombshells of the season, arriving nine days in, and he caught Leah’s attention right away. The couple ended up finishing second in the finale, which is pretty impressive for a bombshell couple. They ditched their current partners for each other, and Miguel later did the same for Casa Amor girlie Sierra, not knowing that Leah had stayed true. They worked through it and coupled up again. Idk I still need time to forgive.
Miguel lives in London while our girl Leah is up in California, but the pair are ready to make it work better than Joe and Taylor did with that distance (soz). Miguel is apparently open to moving to the US, but only to Miami… sir, why? Why would you go to Miami for more than a weekend if you’re under the age of 60? Make it make sense.
Miguel also told Us Weekly that the whole finale crew is meeting to go to Disney World. Ew, are they Disney adults??? Did I miss that?? Less Mickey Mouse ears and more thong bikinis, pls!
JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez

Another Dallas boy (excuse me, I’d like to book a one-way ticket to Dallas!), Kenny will be briefly separated from JaNa, who is heading back to Las Vegas. Okay, outing myself here, but I never really thought about people actually living in Vegas?? Like do they have normal shit there too, like Trader Joes?
JaNa was a day one girlie, briefly linked to Coye, Connor, and Hakeem. Fun fact: Connor Newsum was seen on a date with VPR’s Katie Mahoney??? I love a crossover! Maybe host Ariana introduced them. Okay, no more tangents, so on the first public vote, JaNa and Hakeem were among the least-voted couples, and faced elimination from the villa. Ruh roh! Hakeem was dumped while JaNa was saved by the other women (girlies!!!!), meaning that she remained in the villa as a single [and ready to mingle] Islander. Kenny arrived two days later, and they hit it off. Unfortunately Kenny found himself a new girlie, Catherine, in Casa Amor while JaNa decided to be faithful. But they worked through it and eventually decided to be exclusive.
“I’m giving him 10 days max to have his alone time. And then boom, he’s gonna come visit me in Vegas. We have plans in Dallas for the Texas State Fair. He wants to do the rodeo, the gun range, like, we’re just doing Texas [soon],” JaNa told Us Weekly. “And he’s never been to Vegas, so [we have] to do the gambling and the shows and the clubs and everything you can think of. I’m gonna have it all laid out for him. We’re busy when we get out of here.”
Kenny specified that the couple WILL be seeing each other before the reunion on August 19 and said, “I’m gonna be missing her and thinking of her a lot, so It’ll be sad when we have to say bye at LAX.” (Kendall, are you taking notes??)
Kassy Castillo and Rob Rausch
Now onto those who didn’t make it to the finale… starting with Sassy Kassy and Round Two Rob!! So previously a bombshell on season 5, Rob was back to try again after his embarrassing 5-day stint. And boy, did he try, having short-lived couplings with Leah, Liv, Andrea, and Cassidy. He also briefly paired with Daniela (ruh roh incoming), before fellow season 5 girlie Kassy came in to finish their previous chemistry. They spent three days together before being eliminated in sixth place.
The couple haven’t discussed how they’re doing in the real world, although many fans are hoping Rob will rekindle things with Leah or Andrea. Idk I’m fine not hearing more about him.
Kaylor Martin and Aaron Evans
Okay, don’t come for me but I very briefly rooted for this couple!! I think we all did. They started up literally MINUTES into the premiere, it was giving closing time at a bar. The two joined the others in an icebreaker challenge and later coupled up that night, making them one of the first couples of the season. But first isn’t always best, such as first to finish!! And boy, did he blow his load quickly.
The first argument came after Kaylor kissed another islander (I support women’s wrongs), and the argument got way too heated. They kissed and made up, but this was the first of the hurdles to come.
Aaron was way more dedicated to his bestie Rob than he ever was to Kaylor, and he briefly wanted to leave the villa with him. Sir, I applaud your commitment to friendship, but this is LOVE Island. Then Aaron chose to go to Casa Amor with the lads and struck up a connection with Daniela, bonding over both being bilingual. They spoke in Spanish about wanting to kiss each other — WE HAVE SUBTITLES FOOLS. They shared their Spanish kiss, and Kaylor was super bummed, especially when he turned out to have copied their handshake too!! That’s like a step away from a handjob.
He stood by his actions and stormed off with bestie Rob, and then used “I love you” to try and smooth things over. Unfortunately, it worked. He may have fooled her, but he didn’t fool the rest of us, as they received the least votes. But Aaron didn’t mind leaving the villa as Rob was going too!!! Can these men just kiss already?? Unfortunately, Kaylor and Aaron are still trying things in the real world, even though her mom hella shaded him on Facebook.
“With Aaron, it’s definitely a huge, huge risk that I’m taking, and I’m really freaking scared, but we’ll see what happens. I think everything happens for a reason,” she said on the Viall Files podcast. “I’m 22, so I know that I have a lot of time to fall in love, break up, fall in love with another person, hook up with them, kiss a bunch of men, and I think that’s so valuable before you do settle down. That’s why I’m like, ‘This is a huge risk that I’m taking with Aaron,’ but that’s OK. I’m 22 years old [and] I’m allowed to take these risks.”
You know what? Fair enough!! I did the stupidest shit at 22, it is a right of passage. Like her giving Aaron the time of day is definitely a big mistake, but she is entitled to make it. 22 is for the fuck boys who break your heart repeatedly, your late twenties are for crochet.
