A little white lie (example: telling a wedding guest you liked that weird gift they gave you or laughing at your Uber driver’s stupid joke so you don’t get kidnapped) is harmless. Telling a massive lie that completely changes the trajectory of your life and others’, however, is kind of a no-no. Television writer Elisabeth Finch who worked on shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, The Vampire Diaries, and True Blood, unfortunately falls into the latter category. A mind-blowing exposé in Vanity Fair, followed up by Peacock’s hottest new documentary, Anatomy of Lies, has put a big ol’ spotlight on some of Finch’s most explosive lies, most of which revolved around pretending to have cancer (like receiving chemo treatment that she acted out by shaving her head). Elisabeth has been caught in many other documented lies, such as being sexually harassed on set and her brother dying by suicide, as reported by Vanity Fair. So where is Elisabeth Finch today now that the dust has settled? Let’s find out.
Elisabeth Finch’s Apology

Right before the doc aired, Elisabeth published her latest life update by way of a long apology on October 15. Elisabeth starts her highly anticipated public apology by acknowledging that she “lied about so much” that it has “devastated” people to the point that no one has “any reason to believe a word” she says. She goes on to explain she became “addicted” to the lies which led to the “betrayal” of those closest to her, who she accepts may never forgive her. Elisabeth has been in mental health treatment since she was originally caught in this mess three years ago before everything became public news. After saying sorry to her wife Jennifer (and Jennifer’s five children), who proposed to Elisabeth under the pretext of Elisabeth’s deception, Elisabeth says she’s still working to “repair any damage” but that she knows she is “not the worst things” that she’s done.
Where is Elisabeth Finch today?
After news Elisabeth of Elisabeth’s cancer scam was first published by The Ankler around March of 2022, Elisabeth took a leave of absence from her work. A few months later in December, Elisabeth did an interview with The Ankler, confirming her lies being reported there and in VF were factual and that she was wrong for telling them. Since 2022 Elisabeth has mostly stayed quiet but she has recently been pushed back into the spotlight due to the October 15, 2024, premiere of Peacock’s three-part docuseries, Anatomy of Lies.
