A Very Controversial Husband Material Ranking Of The 'Love Island USA' Men

Do I feel personally validated that #1 show, Love Island USA season 6, is just as iconic as I predicted after years of patience while Peacock built up the franchise? Yes, yes I do. Maybe that’s why as a longtime international Love Island expert some of the internet’s very loud opinions are feeling more like a personal attack. I think one thing the fandom needs to firmly agree upon is that these men, problematic as they may be, are an essential part of the viewing experience (that and Ariana causing multiple heatwaves with her scorching hot looks at the host). Without the dramatic re-couplings and brutal romantic fumblings that get our Twitter fingers all hot and rashy, we don’t have a show, folks!! That being said, just because they’re entertaining as hell, doesn’t mean we’re letting these bad boys off the hook. Fiji has delivered a few diamonds in the rough, but there are plenty of hard-headed coconuts who actually might’ve just fallen out of a coconut tree. Here’s a controversial villain ranking of the Love Island USA season 6 male cast to measure who has the most husband material. For science.

Ranking The Love Island USA Season 6 Men From Least To Most Husband Material

Aaron

Welp, this was a no-brainer. Watching Aaron joke with Kaylor that she “folded like a pretzel” quite literally made my stomach hurt. Not because it was rude, but because it was blatantly true, and he still has the audacity to make light of his betrayal in Casa with Daniela. Just because I’m over Kaylor and her overactive tear ducts (if she doesn’t Kleenex spon the moment she leaves The Villa none of this was worth it) since she’s decided to take her British bridge troll back with little to no hesitation, doesn’t mean Aaron isn’t still tap dancing on every single one of my nerves every time he opens his mouth to “tease” his newly minted girlfriend (deep sigh). Aaron is a liar and an actress who ruined not one but two Love Island girls’ experiences with his inability to stay loyal or own up to his two-timing behavior, even when they’re played in 4K in front of the entire group.

Kendall

Didn’t I say you were going to have to hear me out? I know you perhaps may have been expecting a blue-eyed snake wrangler to possess the second-least amount of husband material in my book, but I’ll prove to you it should be Kendall with one simple word: weird. Kendall twisting on Nicole after giving her hell for having a few chats with Miguel? Weird. Kendall morphing into a full-on Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader every time his boys did something shady in Casa Amor? Weird. His overly giddy energy snuggling Nicole while Serena, JaNa, and Kaylor were knee-deep in post-Casa turmoil he encouraged? REALLY Weird. It’s like he lit a match, threw it on a house made of gasoline, and giggled in the corner while everyone else burned. He gives weirdo attention whore energy, and since I can’t understand his motives, he is therefore untrustworthy. Yes, Kendall would be thrilled to be the doting husband to Nicole’s blushing bride. But what’s gonna happen on that bachelor trip when he’s trying to impress his bros??? Something weird!

Miguel

Miguel Love Island

I think Miguel’s shortage of husband material is actually just a matter of time. He’s mature enough to recognize he doesn’t want to repeat the unhealthy patterns he saw at home growing up, but he’s still too young and too dangerously hot to walk the straight and narrow at this time. Give Miguel a few years and a few more heartbreaks and I think he’ll make a splendid life partner. But for now, I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw all six feet of perfectly toned muscle.

Kenny

Similar to Miguel, the only reason Kenny isn’t higher up is because I think he still has more self-discovery to do. He’s absolutely a sweet baby angel and I’m tickled pink that my girl JaNa is finally getting to live her Love Island fantasy, but Kenny is also 24, and it shows. I love that Kenny empathized with JaNa’s feelings after bringing back Catherine, but the fact that he was so utterly lost on why she would feel that way until was explicitly laid out tells me there’s still room for growth.

Rob

Yes, I’m choosing chaos, but there’s a method to my madness!! Sure, Rob made a bit of a mess of pursuing Andrea. He is undoubtedly a drama king but if feeling emotions too hard was a crime, every Cancer would currently be locked up in prison. More importantly, his connection with Andrea spoke for itself. He didn’t ditch Leah for “every bombshell,” he correctly discerned he had a strong connection with someone else which means he’s a man who understands what he wants. Before you go countering that Rob is an eViL gAsLiGhTeR I need you to a) Google the definition of gaslighting because it’s not repeating a conversation with a few errors and b) explain to me how all the girls in the house, Leah included, have nothing but good things to say about Rob’s character. Rob is an odd duck, but unlike Kendall, in an authentic way that doesn’t depend on how others are acting. He’s a mama’s boy who is stupid good-looking but wears things like overalls without a shirt so you wouldn’t have to worry about him being every lady’s cup of tea. TBH his biggest red flag is being best friends with Aaron, but he did explain to his problematic BFF that Aaron needed to buck up and take the heat on Movie Night, right? Most important of all, Rob. is. self. aware. Every time Leah apologized, he apologized back. He said he sucks at Love Island and keeps getting voted into the bottom because of one reason: himself. I will die on the hill that Rob is not by any stretch of the imagination a reality TV monster who WILL successfully wife someone, if not Andrea, someday soon. Argue with the wall.

Kordell

Protect this man at all costs. Not because he is perfect (learning the phrase “long-term goals” on TV is tough) but because of his endless patience. Serena wasn’t just a slow burner with Kordell, she turned the oven all the way off. And when everyone told him it was suspicious she was into him again right before a recoupling, he trusted the process and played the long game. He never let the rejection change his happy-go-lucky energy and remained a friend to her, and everyone around him. Not to mention, he’s humble AF — imagine how many times Kendall or Aaron would’ve said their brother was a famous athlete by now. The degree to which Kordell wilded out in Casa was out of hand (no more dry-humping under the covers, please). But he owned up to that and apologized a million times without ever deflecting or pointing out that Daia did reciprocate the energy Serena originally left on the dance floor. The man silently wiped avocado toast off of his chest and instead of complaining apologized again! That is the treat-people-with-kindness-king I want at my side when I have a temper tantrum about whatever irrelevant thing he did to bother me for the third time that week.
