This legendary pop queen is fully in her movie star era once again — JOKER 2: Folie à Deux premieres on October 4, 2024. Yes, we somehow have to wait six whole months for this, but at least we can watch the trailer on repeat until then. Lady Gaga stars as the iconic DC henchwoman character, alongside Joaquin Phoenix, who’s returning to his role as the Joker.

The queen has been promising new tunes for a while, and personally, I am ready for some. Stat. It turns out Joker is mostly a jukebox musical, which means the majority of the songs will be covers. BUT Lady Gaga’s writing her own originals too. She recently took to Instagram to share an adorable selfie and update fans. “I feel like my heart is bursting with gratitude for my own health and MUSIC—I am writing some of my best music in as long as I can remember,” she wrote in her caption. AAHHH.

The singer continued: “Thank you thank you thank you for loving me the way you do and for having such a real love for my songs—I’ve been writing ❤️pop songs since I was a little girl I can’t believe I still get to do what I love.” Please never stop, girlie.
