Sorry, am I supposed to believe Glen Powell’s dog, Brisket, isn’t the star of Twisters? The pup’s stunning face is everywhere these days — social media, magazine covers, late night television, and even on the Twisters set. This press tour was really starting to convince me that the movie was about a breathtaking terrier poodle mix, not Glen and a tornado. Some of us (Brisket) just can’t help having the “It” factor, I suppose.
When Glen adopted Brisket in July 2023, he was just a lonely Hollywood icon who wanted to be a father. Who could’ve predicted that his son would embrace the nepo baby label so fervently and take advantage of every opportunity to shine in his dad’s industry? Although this dog is already plenty appreciated, I think we as a society need to honor him even more: Here’s everything to know about Glen Powell’s dog, Brisket. Glen was inspired to get a dog when he found himself in a sad boi era after the end of a relationship. He adopted Brisket from the Labelle Foundation while he was filming Twisters. “I was going through a breakup at the time and was in the middle of Enid, Oklahoma, and I had always wanted a dog,” the actor told Entertainment Weekly. “It was something I thought about a lot, but it was somewhere in this coffee shop in Enid…. I don’t even know how to describe it, I just had the desire to be a father.” He really does have impeccable dog dad energy.
When he first laid eyes on a photo of Brisket on a dog rescue site, Glen knew he’d found his son. “I sent them a heartbreakingly depressing video of me [explaining] why I needed this dog,” he said. I’ll admit… this man grows on me more and more.
