After seven years together and three years of being engaged, Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino have officially called off their wedding and split. They were last seen together in New York City on January 20. I can’t say I’m particularly devastated about this breakup, considering these two started dating when Sydney was 20 and Jonathan was 34… That’s a yikes age gap, sorry. And I fear she’s light years out of his league too. I said what I said.
But there’s more: Just before news of the split came out, Sydney was hanging out with Glen Powell at his sister’s wedding in Texas. Ya know, the gorgeous former costar she was rumored to be having an affair with in 2023 when they shot Anyone But You together. (At the time, Sydney denied the affair rumors, telling The Age, “People see what they want to see. But really, they saw us on set … I think, you know, it just proves that we’re great actors.”)
Soo, why exactly did Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino break up? And is Sydney dating Glen Powell now? Let’s unpack this intriguing drama together.
Apparently, Sydney’s really focused on the grind right now… Ya know, Euphoria season 3, The Housemaid, etc. She simply doesn’t have time for a mid man who’s 14 years older than her! “She’s exactly where she wants to be,” People‘s source claimed. “Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She’s all about working right now and very excited about all her projects.”

That being said, the actress hasn’t been feeling so great about her personal life. The source noted, “What did make her overwhelmed though was her relationship and her wedding. She didn’t feel right about it.” At the end of the day, Sydney’s “not ready to settle down” and her relationship with Jonathan “only lasted for this long because it was hard for her to break it off,” according to the insider.
They emphasized, “They didn’t split because there is no love. They split because she just wants to focus on her career.” As someone who’s been waiting for Euphoria season 3 for about 50 years, I totally agree: She should really focus on work right now. The season’s not gonna film itself.

The Anyone But You costars (once again) sparked dating rumors over the weekend when Sydney attended Glen’s sister’s wedding in Texas. Leslie Powell even shared a photo of her and Sydney on her Insta Story.
But I fear Glen and Sydney’s relationship is still strictly platonic… The Hit Man actor’s mother, Cyndy Powell, actually weighed in on the dating rumors during a March 31 chat with Daily Mail. “They’re definitely not together,” she clarified, adding, “They’ve been friends for so long. They’ve known each other for so long and they’ve both been single and together and with other people.” Glen’s mom called the dating rumors “silly.”
Apparently, Sydney’s “really close friends” with the whole Powell fam. “She’s really a friend and we all enjoy her,” Cyndy added.
I’m sorry, but Sydney and Glen give real-life rom-com and I’m just waiting for the day they hard-launch.
