We’ve all been there: You’re finishing the final touches on your going-out look and you’re about to head out the door when your phone dings. And before you even look down at the notification, you pretty much know what it says — someone is canceling on you. Now, in a typical situation, this text probably looks something like, “Sorry, I’m not feeling well,” or “Something came up at work.” But some people have used absolutely insane reasons to cancel on them last minute.
You might have one of two reactions to someone canceling plans on you. You could be extremely elated (couch and jammies, here I come) or you could be incredible annoyed (what a waste of an outfit). But in some rare situations, there’s a third possible response: WTF? And this response is usually elicited when someone’s reason for canceling is a bit out of the ordinary. Can’t even begin to think of what these might be? Well, you don’t have to because we asked the general public what the craziest reason someone canceled on them was or why they canceled on someone else, and these were some of the unbelievable answers we got.
