Cody Ko Returns To YouTube And Seemingly Responds To Tana Mongeau's Allegations

Well, well, well. Six months later, Cody Ko is finally responding to Tana Mongeau’s serious allegations against him… kind of. You may recall that back in July, Tana claimed during a live taping of her Cancelled podcast that she and Cody slept together when she was “literally 17” and he was 25. Following that allegation and the wave of backlash Cody received for it, he took a prolonged social media hiatus and also left his podcast, Tiny Meat Gang. His cohost, Noel Miller, continued on as the sole host of the show. At the time, Cody did not publicly respond to Tana’s allegations in any kind of meaningful way and instead opted to DJ a set at a beach club in Las Vegas.

Now, in his first YouTube video since the summer, Cody Ko is publicly responding to Tana Mongeau’s allegations for the first time.

Cody Ko’s Response To The Tana Mongeau Allegations

Cody made an apprehensive YouTube comeback on his side channel, Cody Trains, which only has about 272,000 subscribers. This was an interesting choice, considering his main channel, Cody Ko, still has nearly six million subscribers. On December 23, the content creator shared a 21-minute video that’s mostly about how he’s preparing to run marathon. (Because that’s what everyone wants to hear about.) Naturally, he doesn’t seemingly reference the Tana controversy until more than 20 minutes into the video, and he only dedicates a minute or so to the matter.

“Obviously, I understand I’ve been offline for months, haven’t made videos for that whole time,” he says toward the end of the marathon-focused video. “I also understand if your opinion of me has potentially changed over the last few months. I spent the first half of my career criticizing people and judging people online, so I don’t begrudge your judgement of me by any means.”

While Cody didn’t address Tana directly, he claimed that he’s going to “try to be the best person I can be for myself and for my family and just continue putting the best shit out there that I can.” He added, “If you stick around to watch it, I very much appreciate it from the bottom of my heart, truly.”

Cody appears to be wearing his wedding ring in the video, so it looks like his and fellow influencer Kelsey Kreppel’s marriage survived the allegations and backlash. Kelsey notably also stopped posting on social media and stopped releasing new episodes of her podcast, Circle Time, last July.

We’ll have to wait and see if Cody makes a legit social media comeback or comments further. Surely, Tana will be weighing in on this response (or lack thereof) soon.

Betches previously reached out to Cody for comment but did not hear back.
