Bridgerton season 3 is sadly over, so I hope everyone can excuse my deep depression mode. The slow burns, Regency Era-style foreplay scenes, and orchestral versions of Ariana Grande hits are my primary sources of happiness… whatever is a smut-loving, chronically single woman to do when there are no new episodes?? My current method is rewatching season 3 an unhealthy amount of times and then obsessing over the next season, which does exist. Season 4 was confirmed back in April 2021, thank heavens. As the book girlies know, the show has only covered three of eight Bridgerton books, so there’s plenty of delicious drama to come and I need it right. Now. In fact, Netflix just announced which character is getting the spotlight next season, and the choice is simply perfection.
Stans are flooding the internet with their burning questions about the upcoming season. When are we getting it? Who’s the star? Who’s the next Kanthony or Polin? Which cast members are returning? Will the storylines be gay? To cope with the harsh truth of season 3 nearing its end, I went on a quest for answers: Here’s everything to know about Bridgerton season 4.
All About Bridgerton Season 4
When Is Bridgerton Season 4 Coming Out?
Wellll, if they’re following the same torturous release schedule — a new season every two years — we’d get season 4 in 2026. But I’m gonna choose to deny that likelihood cause that doesn’t work for me. I needed the season yesterday. The good news? Executive producer Shonda Rhimes said that they’re trying to hurry the fuck up. “We’re really working on the idea of if this is the field we live in, then how do we make the field faster?” she told Variety in May. Yes, Shonda. Exactly the right question to ask. “And so we really are thinking about stuff such as permanent sets and lots, and things like that that will really help us speed the process up.”
Back in April, showrunner Jess Brownell confirmed that season 4 was already in production. While speaking with Refinery29, she said, “We actually don’t know when it’s gonna drop. We’re still making sure that we write the best possible script that we can before we start production. But we’re really thrilled with what we’ve been working on.” Sigh. We’re certainly not getting season 4 soon.
What Is Bridgerton Season 4 About?

IT’S OFFICIALLY ALL ABOUT BENEDICT!! “Benedict Bridgerton has been unmasked as next season’s newest suitor,” Netflix said in a July 24 post on X. “Please scream to celebrate our boy.” And scream, I did. As you may recall, Benedict discovered his queerness in season 3 when he hooked up with Lady Tilley Arnold and Mister Paul Suarez. I cannot wait to see more of his journey unfold.
Will There Be Queer Storylines In Bridgerton Season 4?
I’d say so, considering Benedict is the focus! In April, Jess the showrunner told Pride that she plans to queerify Bridgerton. “I want to see more queer joy on my screens and that was definitely a priority for me when I stepped into the showrunner role,” she said. “How exactly that plays out over this season and the next couple seasons, I can’t say specifically, but I will say I’m excited for fans to see that.” Omgggg.
Who’s In The Cast Of Bridgerton Season 4?
Well, Luke Thompson, duh! And probably Hannah New (Lady Tilley Arnold) and Lucas Aurelio (Paul Suarez), too. Also, we can all breathe a sigh of relief because Polin (Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton) will be back! “They’ve told us we’re back for season 4, which is super lovely,” Nicola told The Wrap in May. “[We’ll] pop back and have some fun for sure.”
No one is else is confirmed yet, but I’m gonna go ahead and assume that a lot of the main crew will be back: Claudia Jessie (Eloise Bridgerton), Hannah Dodd (Francesca Bridgerton), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), etc.
Benedict, I’m so fucking thrilled it’s your time to shine.
