Whether or not you know anything about football, it’s hard not to love some good ol’ fashioned drama. So suddenly, I find myself paying way more attention to football coach Bill Belichick than I ever did before because the spectacle surrounding him and his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, is oh-so juicy.
A CBS Sunday Morning interview with Bill went viral for all the wrong reasons after Jordon took charge of it, shutting down the interviewer’s questions about their relationship. With that awkward exchange, the internet did its thing and started digging in to find out more about Bill and Jordon (and their nearly five-decade age gap).
Bill was on the show to promote his new book, The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football, and apparently, Jordon was just trying to help the interviewer stay focused on the book.
“The final eight-minute segment does not reflect the productive 35-minute conversation we had, which covered a wide range of topics related to my career,” Bill said in a statement on April 30. “Instead, it presents selectively edited clips and stills from just a few minutes of the interview to suggest a false narrative – that Jordon was attempting to control the conversation – which is simply not true.”
Okay, I get the message; there’s nothing to see here; the man simply wants to talk about his career. I can help with that, but what I’m really curious about is how much money he’s made from all his years in the NFL. Let’s take a look at Bill Belichick’s net worth.
How Much Is Bill Belichick Worth?
This past year, Bill became the football coach for the University of North Carolina. But before that, he had a long and storied career in the NFL for over 40 years. It took a long time to rack up some big paydays, and Bill had the goods to back it up. He worked with seven NFL franchises: the New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, Detroit Lions, Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos, and — most famously — the New England Patriots.
Bill coached the Patriots for 24 seasons and led them to six Super Bowl wins. By the end of his last season with the Patriots in 2023, he was earning $20 million a season, which made him the highest-paid coach in the NFL.
The Patriots let Bill go, but then UNC hired him for a five-year contract with an annual salary of $10 million. He did not get quite as much as he did when working in the NFL, but it was still not too shabby.
So what does all of that amount to? Bill’s net worth is estimated to be a hefty $70 million.
