Celebs Are Just Like Us! Zendaya And Others Used Pinterest To Create Met Gala Mood Board

Happy first Monday in May to all who celebrate! The Met Gala can feel like the Hunger Games at times, but when it’s done right it’s an Olympic feat in hair, makeup, and styling. Sure, we all tune in to see who wears the best and worst outfits (while sitting in sweats on the couch). But one could argue that hair and makeup looks can act as the main event. Don’t believe me? Zendaya’s 2024 Met Gala look includes a full hummingbird sticking out from her hair. And with this year’s dress code, “The Garden of Time,” we were promised a wild ride in interpretations.

It’s common for celebrity makeup and hairstylists to create a mood board to help decide on a look that their client is happy with. This year, we go a sneak peak behind the scenes at the Pinterest boards that brought us the best beauty looks on the red carpet this year — from Zendaya to Sabrina Carpenter.

Florals for the Met Gala? Groundbreaking. I’m not gonna lie, when I first saw Zendaya’s mood board I was a little nervous by how many flower photos I could see. I mean, she’s a co-chair of this year’s Met Gala!!! But I should’ve trusted the process because her hairstylist Ursula Stephen did not disappoint. For the look, she gathered Zendaya’s hair into a sleek, low bun and pinned it into the shape of a callalily.

Sabrina was not talking nonsense with this 60s dream girl look. Blue makeup was a ‘60s and ‘80s staple and is now back in full force. Makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez embraced the frosted eyeshadow trend which adds an edge to her Cinderella-esque gown.

Ursula Stephen did not hold back with the bleach blonde and mullet pixie. You can see where old Hollywood glam met edgy punk in Jodie’s Met Gala mood board. Ugh, I don’t need another excuse to chop off all of my hair!
