If your name happens to be Gerald Eazy, you might wanna be a little afraid right now, and not because it’s no longer 2015. Apparently, one of G-Eazy’s collaborators from one of his most famous songs is not happy with him right now. Bebe Rexha both confused and titillated the internet with a seemingly out-of-the-blue rant about her previous experience working with G-Eazy, and it’s very clear the singer is not good. When I think of Beba Rexha, I immediately want to get a neon-colored cocktail and dance in the summer rain at an outdoor festival. When I think of G-Eazy, I immediately want to revisit some of the colorful lyrics that make him possibly the funniest rapper of all time (take that as you will). Even though I’m sure he rightfully didn’t enjoy getting yelled at online, I’m sure he can at least appreciate having his name back in the press, right? Too soon? Either way, I’m going fucking crazy over this library-level read, so it felt necessary to unpack why Bebe Rexha and G-Eazy are feuding.
What happened with Bebe Rexha and G-Eazy?
Bebe Rexha calls out G-Eazy in latest Instagram story when asked to shoot media content with him:
“You’re lucky people are liking you again. Cause I could go in on all the shitty things you’ve done and how you treated me after giving you your only real hit. Btw the answer is… pic.twitter.com/Tbb03fw1B1

On June 13, Bebe took to the tried and true Instagram Story to call out G-Eazy for going through her team to suggest a social media collab. She tagged Gerald himself over a screenshot of the request coming in from her management and added, “You have my number. Why don’t you text me and ask me yourself you ungrateful loser? You’re lucky people are liking you again. Cause I could go in on all the shitty things you’ve done and how you treated me after giving you your only real hit. Btw the answer is no. Hope you good. [Peace sign emoji]”. An iconic end to an iconic statement, if you ask me! Why was she so mad he wanted to work together again? Clearly, there was some bad blood between the pair after their hit single “Me, Myself, and I” (that we’ll get into below). If G-Eazy knows he hurt Bebe in some way, to go to her team years later and casually ask for her help in gaining another bag as if nothing happened, would be pretty insulting and triggering to many artists. Kinda like that mutual that did you dirty but then texts you to see if it’s cool if they come to your house party because everyone else is going.
Bebe doubled down on her post about G-Eazy
Someone from my team had me take down my Instagram story. I decided to remove it because it felt very negative and toxic. Sometimes trauma can lead us to react that way, and that period of my life was traumatizing. I am writing this because I regret taking it down and I want to…

Bebe has since taken the post down, at the request of someone on her team, because she didn’t want to appear “negative” and “toxic.” But she did tweet that she stood by everything she said, and actually regrets taking it down. Stand on it, queen!
Do Bebe Rexha and G-Eazy have beef?
According to Bebe, they sure do. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live after the 2016 VMAs where G-Eazy performed their song with Britney Spears instead of her, Bebe explained it upset her that no one gave her the heads up. She was of course honored for thee Britney Jean Spears to cover her track, and was happy G-Eazy got her backstage to take photos with Brit, but she was really surprised after their creative process together he let her find out with the rest of the audience. It seems like this super-sized clapback reveals that the positivity Bebe once expressed about “Me, Myself, and I” (at the time in 2015 she described herself and G-Eazy as “the same person” on the “same wavelength”) hid some serious baggage she wasn’t able to unpack until years later.
