When Worlds Collide: ‘Trad Wife’ Nara Smith Wants To Make Olympian Suni Lee a Medal From Scratch

When you spend enough time chronically online, you’re bound to witness worlds collide. In this case it was Nara Smith, aka the trad wife influencer who makes everything from ~scratch~ (including a Marc Jacobs bag), offering to make Team USA gymnast Suni Lee an Olympic medal by hand. NBD.

Despite the haters, the women’s gymnastic team has been racking up the medals at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics. Biles and Lee competed against each other for the first time in the individual all-around competition with Lee placed third, earning a bronze medal. Biles won the gold making her the first American gymnast to win twice. And Team USA won gold in the artistic team all-around competition. The athletes took to social media to share their accomplishments the way they do best: with a viral TikTok sound. Specifically, Kanye West’s 2005 Grammy acceptance speech.

“Everybody wants to know what I would do if I didn’t win,” Lee lip synced into the camera with her teammates behind her with a pause before showing them with medals around their neck. “I guess we’ll never know.”

Of course, Lee’s TikTok garned a lot of attention, duh. Like over 35 million views of attention. Of the almost 20,000 who commented, a certain trad wife caught the attention of the Olympian. Smith commented, “sooo proud!! can I make you one?” As in make her a medal from scratch? Lee responded the only way one can when the queen of trad wives offers to bake you a little treat: “OHHHMGGG YES” complete with crying emojis.

Will she extract copper to perfect the bronze finish? Will Lee join her in her perfectly modern kitchen? All I know is I’ll be watching this woman whispering her GRWM routine and making Takis from scratch for her husband while I await the final product. And yes, when she cuts into it, it better be cake.
