OMG my High School Musical bb self is screaming right now because Vanessa Hudgens is pregnant! The star debuted her baby bump at the 2024 Oscars red carpet and is expecting baby No. 1 with husband Cole Tucker. I am jumping for joy for these two — they literally deserve all of the happiness in the world and my heart can’t take it.
The Princess Switch actress revealed her pregnancy while co-hosting ABC’s Countdown to Oscars: On the Red Carpet Live! at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 10, by cradling her baby bump. She walked the red carpet and waved to fans and photographers who congratulated her on the exciting reveal.
The news of her expecting her first child comes just a few months after she and hubby Cole walked down the aisle together in Tulum, Mexico, on December 2. The two announced they were engaged just about a year ago in February 2023, so their love story is coming full circle!!!
The couple first sparked rumors they were dating about three and a half years ago in November 2020 when they were photographed packing on the PDA. If you ask me, I knew it was love immediately. They were clearly obsessed with each other. They went IG official on Valentine’s Day one year later and the rest is history.

“He’s just kind of perfect for me,” baby V told ET in April 2021 about her man. “I am [happy]. I really am. I think that it’s also so important to stay grateful for everything that you have in life. I’ve been making that a priority, and I feel like it’s just been making magic happen all the more.”
The pregnancy news comes just days after Vanessa clapped back at rumors she was expecting that surfaced during her bachelorette party in October 2023. “I literally just had a run-in with the public taking control over their opinion of me in a way that was disrespectful,” she explained the March 6 episode of the She Pivots podcast. “I went out on my bachelorette and I posted video of me, and there are all these comments that are like, ‘Oh my god, you’re pregnant.'”
“I’m sorry I don’t wear Spanx every day and am a real woman and have a real body,” she said, adding that the comments at the time were “so rude.”
Ultimately, she just wants people to be careful about making “assumptions” — not just in this instance, but “in all aspects of life, but especially over other women’s bodies.”
