Do I have beef with the Country Music Awards right now? Absolutely I do. They majorly dissed Beyoncé by failing to nominate her for a SINGLE award, which is blasphemy in the year of Cowboy Carter. Not to mention, they gave fucking Morgan Wallen, the guy who was suspended from his label for being racist, the Entertainer of the Year award. I cannot. I would really like to have a chat with the voters about these fascinating choices. Fortunately, my beef with the award show did not stop me from judging all of the red carpet fits this year. I know the people are waiting on my professional commentary, so here’s my official best and worst dressed list for the 2024 CMAs.
KACEY. My jaw’s on the floor. The country queen understood the assignment with this fabulous denim dress featuring beaded fringe and feathered sleeves… not to mention the insane face card. This look is flattering, on-theme, and unique — literally all I want in an award show outfit.

Okay, yes to the metallic color, fuck-ass bob, and shimmery glam, but no to the dress being significantly too long for her?? Why did they do the greatest athlete of all time dirty like this?
I was on the fence about this ensemble for a sec because it is kinda busy, but I’m classifying the dark, androgynous, fiercely country look as a serve.

This dress has potential for greatness (living for this color on her and always love a mermaid shape), but it’s so remarkably bland?? It’s like a rough draft of a dress. I need at least a HINT of a pattern, a sparkle, an exciting accessory, etc.
I love when men serve at award shows! It’s rare, but this photo is proof that it can happen. The rose-decorated green suit and the eye-catching black blouse is just chef’s kiss. Thank you, Shaboozey.

Kelsea, I love you, but I do not love this awkward, baggy top part of the dress, nor do I love the tacky sparkles. This woman is gorgeous and she deserves a stellar, sophisticated look.
Can these War and Treaty people (who I’m frankly just learning about now) teach a class on how to dress for the CMAs? I’m fucking obsessed. The coordination! The tasteful sparkles! The elegance of it all!
