Taylor Swift Has Iconic Reaction To Jo Koy's Joke About Her At The Golden Globes

Our girl. Taylor Swift had the most iconic reaction to comedian Jo Koy’s joke about her during his opening monologue for the 2024 Golden Globes.

“The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? At the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift,” Jo said on stage. This joke is lazy at best, and the “Karma” singer didn’t even bother to fake a laugh.

After Jo’s joke bombed with the audience, the camera fixated on Taylor, who simply took a sip from her Champagne glass. The singer was sitting next to one of her BFFs Keleigh Sperry, who looked equally unamused.

“If looks could kill, she might try,” one fan responded to Taylor’s stone-faced reaction, quoting the lyrics from “Vigilante Shit.” Someone else wrote, “New Taylor Swift reaction meme just dropped.”

Taylor is nominated for her fifth Golden Globe in the new category, Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour. Other films in the category are: Barbie, Oppenheimer, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, John Wick: Chapter 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

The singer’s other four nominations were in the category for Best Original Song, with her first being honored at the show over 10 years ago. She was nominated in 2013 for “Safe and Sound” (The Hunger Games), followed by a 2014 nom for “Sweeter Than Fiction” (One Chance), “Beautiful Ghosts” (Cats) earned a nomination in 2020, and her haunting song “Carolina” (Where the Crawdads Sing) was nominated in 2022.

Travis Kelce didn’t attend the Golden Globes with his girlfriend. However, he was in Los Angeles because his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, played against the LA Chargers. Trav won’t be able to tag along for any GG afterparties, either, because he’s reportedly heading straight back to Kansas City in preparation for the NFL playoffs. To all the people who lose their partners for six months to fantasy football … dating an *actual* player is probably harder.

If it wasn’t clear enough while we’re living in the era of Taylor Swift, she’s retired from her people-pleasing tendencies.

“Being sweet to everyone all the time can get you into a lot of trouble,” she told Elle in 2019. “While it may be born from having been raised to be a polite young lady, this can contribute to some of your life’s worst regrets if someone takes advantage of this trait in you.”

Let us all bring Taylor’s drink-sipping energy into 2024.
