What I love about WAGs (wives and girlfriends of professional athletes) is that they bring the same amount of drama as The Real Housewives, plus they come with a built-in fan base. And just like Bravo, the NFL is not for the weak. If you’re a diehard Buffalo Bills fan, then you might already know Ryleigh Spector, wife of linebacker Baylon Spector who is fresh off the injury reserve. If you don’t know Ryleigh, well, turns out you might soon, because Taylor Swift’s hive of busy little bees is buzzing about the fact that the WAG threw shade at Taylor over some Sunday Night Football. To be fair to Ryleigh, I’ve seen grown men rooting for the same team get into questionable altercations on NFL nights. Some light teasing toward the (second) biggest pop star in the world, shouldn’t be the B of a D. And yet, alas, it is. I’m explaining the WAG drama between Ryleigh Spector and Taylor Swift before you have to hear it from a boomer on ESPN.
Taylor Swift’s Drama With Buffalo Bills WAGs Explained
What did Ryleigh Spector say about Taylor Swift?
Ryleigh’s highly treasonous comment regarding Taylor Swift is that Ryleigh was “never a swiftie.” Ryleigh posted those fighting words followed by a yawning emoji over a photo of herself, Ryan Bass (the wife of starting kicker Tyler Bass), and Alexandra Knox (the wife of TE Dawson Knox). She also posted the Bills hella impressive 9-2 record, which ruined the Kansas City Chief’s undefeated streak on the Sunday, November 17 game after The Bills scored two eleventh-hour touchdowns in the fourth quarter. But nobody seems to focusing on that part.
Was Ryleigh’s snark unnecessary? Probably so, but so is most sports shit-talk. That’s what keeps it spicy, peeps! Unfortunately, the Swifties didn’t see it as a bit of naughty fun.
Why did Taylor Swift’s fans attack Ryleigh Spector online?
In defense of their queen, diehard Swifties started clapping back at Ryleigh Spector after her shady IG story. They wrote that Ryleigh was so “irrelevant” that no one even cared if she attended a Bills game (which has historically been the norm for WAGs everywhere pre-Swift, TBF). Comments captured by the DailyMail also called Ryleigh “low class” and “childish.” Ryleigh has since turned her socials to private, which if you ask me (a nosey girl who lives drama) is the wrong move.
Did Josh Allen’s sister defend Taylor Swift?

Kinda! Makenna Allen, the younger sister of Bills’ QB Josh Allen, posted some potentially pointed content on Instagram following the Ryleigh/Taylor fallout. Makenna first re-shared a story giving love to Taylor Swift at her Eras Tour appearance in Toronto on November 16, which Makenna attended. Makenna then also added a grid post with another caption shouting out Taylor and the Bills, seemingly implying there is plenty of love for her in the fandom. Or, you know, this could be totally innocent stan behavior. Who’s to say?!
Is there a rivalry between the Buffalo Bills and the Chiefs and how is Taylor Swift involved?
Well, um, it’s football? The Chiefs have been the team to beat for the last few seasons, and Patrick Mahomes nor Travis Kelce has been quiet about showing it. Taylor Swift has become the unofficial halftime show at most Chiefs games since Taylor and Travis have basically become betrothed in a matter of a year. The Bills have been vying for the number one spot (duh, everyone is) and getting close under Josh Allen’s lead despite the ancient Bills curse that always stops them just enough from being great. Until this year.
In 2023, the Chiefs and their fandom did not receive a warm welcome in Buffalo when the two teams last matched up. Sports podcaster Adam Lefkoe described Travis’ reaction as “shocked.” I’m not sure why Tay and her man would be surprised by this frosty reception, since they don’t call them the Bills Mafia for nothing, but Ms. Swift did not return for round two on Sunday night.
