Though for a moment it seemed like Nick Dorka might be in the running for the #1 villain spot of Love Is Blind season 7, the retired athlete has slowly proven his basic jock persona is actually pretty harmless. Though Hannah has next to no patience for her 5’11’ fiancé, I don’t mind seeing Nick show off on camera, especially when the alternative is listening to Stephen try to be funny or letting the PTSD fromthe worlds’s richest art dealer, Leo, making “mwah” kissing noises ring in my ears (Hannah really did pick the MUCH lesser of two evils). After listening to Nick not-so-subtly plant seeds about his career that Hannah has reduced to “no quarterback energy”, I decided to do what his own fiancée won’t by giving the Dork(a) his flowers for his sports accolades. Voila: a look at Nick Dorka’s football stats as a CFL kicker.
Nick Dorka red-shirted his freshman year at The College of William and Mary which is a NCAA Division 1 school. He came from James Madison High Scool in Virginia having scored 137 points. As ESPN stats show, Nick managed to stay on the team for multiple seasons from 2014 to 2016 where he got a decent amount of action. His best season was 2015, where his field goal percentage was 84% for 21-25 attempts. Nick was ranked first-team and second-team All-American (a prestigious nationwide honor) during his college run, as he may have mentioned once or five times.

Like many college athletes, Nick realized his chances of going pro in the big leagues weren’t likely to work out. He instead pursued a career as a big fish in a small pond, playing for the CFL and XFL leagues, as he shared on Love Is Blind.
Nick’s CFL profile indicates he was a free agent who once played for the Montreal Alouettes. Nick also kicked for an Indoor Football League team in 2022 located in North Dakota called the Bismarck Bucks. His longest field goal there was 24 yards. Nick also mentioned he played in the XFL, a constantly evolving minor football league that has since been folded into the USFL.

The CFL is the Canadian Football League, Canada’s highest professional level of “American” style football. Though it is a professional league that garners a lot of attention from our neighbors to the north, overall, the CFL is generally considered a scaled-down alternative to the highly elite National Football League.
