It’s almost the first Monday in May. It’s a moment when fashion takes center stage, and the glitterati adorns magnificent couture pieces. The looks turn heads and make headlines. The biggest, boldest, and brightest fashion stars are in the limelight, making a splash on the red carpet. But this year all eyes might be on the couples of the moment: will their relationship survive the Met Gala curse?
There is a viral belief that celebrities who attend the designer celebration with a spouse or a significant other end up getting divorced or breaking up. Upon researching the hex, I noticed that an unusually high number of famous couples have called it splitsville after attending the party as a unified front. This goes back decades and is now an internet phenomenon. Not gonna lie, I thought some couples who were victims would last — but the spell is bigger and stronger than we know. And, yes, astrology aligns with the timelines.
Let’s look at the astrology of the Met Gala and compare it to the birth charts of the celebrity relationships that didn’t survive to understand why.

While some claim it’s a coincidence, this theory has a long history. It could be a random or cruel act of fate. IMHO, I’m gonna side with a yes because I believe there are truths to theories — so I put it to the astrological test.
Who has broken up after the Met Gala?
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez were the power couple of 2017, but the energy wasn’t aligned due to the continuous glare of the public eye, seen through Saturn and the Nodes of Destiny. J.Lo suffered the same fate again when she took Ben Affleck to the Met Gala in 2022. (IKYK Bennifer 2.0 stalled.)
Although Kim Kardashian and Ye attended five Met Galas together (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2019), the 2019 event was the straw that broke the camel’s back. The North Node of Destiny activated Ye’s Pluto, bringing lots of drama. Kim’s Sun felt uneasy when the North Node tested her patience and authority. At the 2022 Met Gala, we saw the end to Kim and Pete Davidson’s relationship. The South Node of Destiny linked up with Pete’s Scorpio stellium, denoting that they were in for a rough patch — mostly him being lovesick over Kim (who can blame him?).
In 2021, the North Node of Destiny created havoc between Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello. They weren’t going to maintain a romantic fit very much longer because they had different goals and aspirations that were clear during the Met Gala.
Then the curse came for one of the cutest — well, shortest – couples ever! The 2024 Met Gala rocked Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan’s charts because Uranus was shaking up their romantic connection. They had many highs and lows, like a roller coaster — until they both got off the intense ride.
RIP to these couples that attended the Met Gala together and underwent the wrath of the hex. Not to mention, Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston who attended in 2016, Selena Gomez and The Weeknd in 2017, Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse in 2018, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth in 2019, and the list goes on.
Who Will Survive The Met Gala Curse In 2025?
The Met Gala Curse has claimed several A-list Hollywood couples, so I surveyed the astrological charts of six couples that could make their debut on the red carpet together. The answers were shocking even to me as a professional astrologer. Only time will tell if these predictions are correct, but for now, these are my assessments based on the astrology of the Met Galas past and present and the birth charts of all of these individuals.
Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet
Will Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet hard launch their ship by walking the red carpet together? (Yes, we know they’re a couple, but we want to see them front and center announcing their relationship, not through their PR team.) It will be interesting to see what transpires during the eclipses in September because their relationship could go either way. They have a Venus opposition, which means that the connection is intense and that Timothy is lifting Kylie now, leading to a deeper connection.
Kylie previously experienced the wrath of the curse with Travis Scott when they attended the Met Gala together in 2018. Hopefully, Kylie will thrive better in 2025 with her new boo. (Sorry, Astro girlies, but Timmy is in the mood for love.)
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce
It’s unsure if Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will attend, but if they do, don’t expect a little hex to stand in their way. They’ve been through Super Bowls and world tours together. They’re each other’s MVPs. Taylor and Travis’s Jupiter return starts in June, which is aspecting her Moon and his fourth house of home. It seems they’ll be canoodling privately and playing house — no breakup in sight. If the stars have anything to do with it, they’ll be a couple for a long time.

I’m sad about having to be the bearer of this news, but Monica Barbaro and Andrew Garfield will most likely fulfill the Met Gala curse if they attend together.
